“Small Rooms but Helpful Staff”
Reviewed 4 November 2006

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel - the room was suprisingly small. We had to climb over the bed and our 2 suitcases to get to the bathroom (also tiny but functional - hair dryer & hot shower) and the door. The beds are comfortable but very low to the floor and our room smelled of stale cigarette smoke even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. The staff was very helpful and nice - they were very happy to offer suggestions on restaurants, shopping and getting around town. They had a nice complimentary breakfast buffet that may have seemed like an odd combination of foods - seafood salad, salami, smoked salmon, soft boiled eggs and lots of breads... also cereal, yogurt and fruit.
Yes, it is in the 'red light' district but it felt very safe at night - and since most of the attractions and shopping are either a few metro stops away or a 20 minute walk away, you're likely not to be spending much time in the area.
All in all we good a good nights sleep and a filling breakfast for a decent rate. Be sure to check the rates for different days.

Small but good for the money, helpful staff and close to the metro. I give it a 7 out of 10.

  • Liked — Quiet Room, Comfortable Beds, Hot Shower, Helpful Staff, Nice Breakfast
  • Disliked — Very Small Room
  • Tips/Secrets — This hotel offers a storage room for luggage if you need it.

We just stayed at the Victoria..........both at beginning and ending of our trip. During the first stay of two nights, the hotel was booked except for one room, which we got. It was rather small and tired looking, but clean. Our bicycles had been lost by the airlines and we were needing a place to "hang" til they arrived. The staff all speak excellent English and were very helpful. They even called the airline for us to see if they could help find our bikes. The hotel is in the red light district, but we never felt threatened. It is a bit noisy...you might want to wear earplugs while sleeping. The breakfast buffett was excellent with a vast selection of meats, cheeses, breads, etc. and the option to order eggs as well. On our second stay we were given a lovely, large corner room. Too bad that was for only one night!

  • Liked — The friendly, helpful staff.
  • Disliked — The size of the first room we had.
  • Tips/Secrets — Try to book ahead and request a corner room.

I've been to victoria hotel for the 2nd time in 2 years. Great location in the middle of frankfurt , but watch out during night time because it's also quite near the red district of frankfurt.
Average hotel in terms of rooms and service . Breakfast is ok , although the buffet is too small , but you still can order eggs , tea , coffee and other from the service...
Excellent hotel if you're in a business trip and having to pass one or two nights in frankfurt - but not quite a hotel where you want to spend a family vacation.....
in few words : you just get what you paid for : no more , no less....

Very happy with the stay. Very good location. An easy walk from the Train Station. Clean rooms, although small (i.e. European standards). Free internet access in the lounge. Very nice breakfast spread. Very helpful staff. Great rates as well. Would definitely stay again.

Just returned from a 4-night stay at the Victoria in Frankfurt. The staff was attentive and friendly. My room was small but very clean, functional, and quiet. I especially appreciated how my room was ready for early check-in when I arrived after my overnight flight, and Herr Klotz even offered me late breakfast, coffee, etc. right at check in. (It's things like this that gain repeat customers.) Breakfast choices were somewhat limited but well presented and service was quite good. Granted, the hotel is in the "red light" district, but this presented no safety concerns at all. Very short walk to U-Bahn station, good bakery across the street. Certainly would recommend this hotel and got a good rate of $77.00 on Expedia. (Note: The "Acapulco" Italian restaurant a block away on Kaiserstrasse had the worst service of any place I've ever eaten in Germany. You have thousands of other choices in Frankfurt.)

After paying 260Euro's for 1 night I was expecting a half decent room. Instead the room was the smallest I have ever stayed in, decor was 1970's, breakfast was awful (unless you love corn flakes), and the location was bang in the middle of the red light disctrict. I tried to complain but was told the manger finishes at 4pm so there was nothing to be done. Granted I did book at a very busy day in Frankfurt but what a big disappointment! Good point was that it was clean.

I landed in Franfurt after an all night flight from Dubai. I was planning to just find a hotel once I got there. I discovered all were extremely expensive ($350/nite) if you didn't have a reservation. A hotel reservation service at the Frankfurt airport booked the Victoria for me which reduced the price to $125/nite. The hotel was nice, not super elegant but in a part of town while being close to the red light district was historic. Nice restaurants 1 block away. Train station 5 minute walk. Hotel staff were very helpful.
