We were in Bad Vilbel for the Music Festival and stayed for two nights at the City Hotel Frankfurt.
The property is a bit outside of town - 2km downhill to get into the city center - but located right next to a huge wooded / fielded area where you can hike, cycle or take your dog for a walk.
The room was nicely decorated, relatively large and very quiet.
The only downside was the lack of air-conditioning, but I was able to borrow a small fan from the front desk, and it helped tremendously.
The breakfast buffet was pretty basic, but the food was fresh - except for the rolls on Sunday morning, which seemed to have been from the day before or frozen and re-heated.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
Finally, the room rate was an excellent value - particularly the double rooms - and breakfast was only an additional €10 - which is about half what it costs at other similar hotels.

Room Tip: The rooms on the top floor have a balcony and chair, but there is not divider between rooms, so I wa...

When travelling on business I tend to stick to hotels that I like and City Hotel Frankfurt is one of them. I stayed here a few months ago and was really impressed with quality of services and great hospitality offered at this place. It is a perfect accommodation in very terms. Rooms are fantastic. All the luxurious amenities needed for a great stay were present there. Washroom was clean and functional. Food was delicious and all the meals were elegantly presented. It is really a cool place to relax after a hectic schedule. I would recommend this place to all the travelers, who visit the city for business.

Food was very good. Favorable pour with glass of wine. No free wi-fi which is annoying. Who doesn't work from room in evening? One computer in business center that seemed occupied regularly. Breakfast buffet was very good. Should be included for all rates. No English entertainment channels on TV. Usual BBC and CNN news. Would probably come back.

This hotel is just outside Bad Vilbel, not really within walking distance of the town and a cab ride from Frankfurt. The rooms are fairly large and have everything you would expect. Sadly our room overlooked Lidle - so not a great view. The bar and bar food are great as is the breakfast. What sets this hotel apart are the staff who are all utterly charming and so helpful. They really made our stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Tanus (wood) anything but away from Lidle!

Well run Hotel. Staff friendly and well trained. The restaurant has minimal choices but the food is not bad. There are very good restaurandt close by. Seems that they have good business in the corporate meeting and group events. Several conference rooms with full catering. The entrance is nice and the decor if still fine. The rooms however need an update. Colors and materials are early 90's and kind of cheap. Not for the romantic getaway. It's a shame because the rest of the hotel deserves it's 4 star rate.

Room Tip: There are 2 sections. One with all non smoking floors. If you don't smoke ask for that one. Othe...

Very good hotel with spacious rooms...the room was clean and tidy with a big bathroom. The staff was helpful and smiling. Its about 15 minute by car from the city of Frankfurt and it provides a free parking area (there is also a private underground parking and it costs 10 euros per day) but you can park in the area around too There are no places to found something to eat in a distance area by foot…there is a lidl market just next to the hotel were you can by fresh bread, chocolate croissant or cheese bretsel per 1 euro each ,so you can avoid to pay 10 euros per person for breakfast The regular price the period I was there was 70 euros with out breakfast but I found I special offer by booking.com for the half price 35 euros…it was really very very good
