“Need pillows and air conditioning -”
Reviewed 5 May 2010

This hotel was recommended by a colleague, we were staying one night in FRA in transit to our final destinaton.
For 95.00 Euros , this hotel offered shuttle from/to airport, great breakfast, clean room.
Need improvement- please get proper pillows
please add A/C
we were offered a room overlooking the courtyard, which was no problem, but had a very uncomfortable night due to the hot climate and poor "pillows".
The front office were polite and welcoming, free internet, in the lobby, great supermarket attached to the hotel, enjoyed walking in this small town, had lunch at "petite Karin" friendly home cooked meal , walked some more the next day in town and enjoyed the spring flowers and gardens. liked the atmosphere of a small town rather than staying at an airport hotel in Frankfurt, got to see the locals, excellent transit bus and a train station close by.
My husband enjoyed the fresh and excellent bread during breakfast. we will go back only if they change their pillows (sometimes I buy pillows from a dept store for hyegine reasons and leave them behind) I would have done the same, but thought of it too late. the hotel has central heating which is a good thing during winter! we noticed there were few Industrial Plants close by, and the guests were not tourists, rather than work related.

Once again, it was a different experince for us after cruising for 27 days in luxury, the hotel and surroundings inducted us back to reality.

Needed a hotel for one night in Frankfurt.
The airport hotel desk recommended it.
I was dead tired when I arrived at 8:00 am and just wanted to sleep.

The room smelled bad as soon as I opened the door. Mildew type smell.
Dropped my bags and got in the bed but couldn't sleep well because of the smell and the sound of planes in the distance.

I gave up trying to sleep around 1:30 pm and decided to leave the hotel.
They made me pay 80% + of the room rate (there less than 6 hours).

As mentioned, towels thin as tissue, pillow thin as tissue.
No soap/shampoo etc., the basics.

Just a very bad experience overall. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Our group arrived shortly before dinner and we were given 2 choices--bratwurst and sauerkraut or pork chops and mashed potatoes. Both included soup and salad and a custard pie dessert. The drinks were an extra charge and caused some confusion. Our rooms were on the 3rd floor and we had beautiful views from our windows. The buffet breakfast was beautifully displayed and there were plenty of choices. The downside to this hotel was that the rooms were not air-conditioned and they were a bit stuffy. We were able to open the large windows but there were no screen in them so a few bugs made their way into our rooms. Also, the only bed coverings were duvets which proved to be very hot and heavy in the warm rooms. My husband took it apart and only used the pocket sheet for his covering and was better off.

We arrived in Franfurt without a hotel and booked this through the airport reservations desk. Great deal. They offered a free shuttle to the hotel from the airport. The driver was extremely friendly. The room was huge with a nice bathroom. Everything was very clean. The hotel is a short walk to the subway so a trip to the historic center was no problem. Breakfast in the morning was the biggest breakfast we'd had in europe so far. We'd been travel ing for a couple of weeks and had a lot of very small continental breakfasts. This hotel had breakfast buffet with eggs, meats, cheeses, fruits, cereals, etc. This hotel is a bit outside of the city proper but for a short stay in Frankfurt it was perfect. Would stay again. As an extra bonus - a good sized grocery store is next door.

Only avoids a "terrible" rating because this is a really cheap hotel, so it must be viewed in that context. Really basic room, pillows so thin they could double up as towels, tiny tiny bathroom with a soap dispenser but no shampoo, soap bars, shower gel etc., and tiny, threadbare towels. Basic breakfast buffet, where I was told (not asked, told) to use the coffee pot left behind by the previous person on my table, as there was still some left ! The buffet itself was barely tolerable, and the plates for the hot buffet were side plates, not dinner plates, so you were not exactly encouraged to tuck in. Took 15 minutes to get a drink at the bar, mainly because the barman couldn't change a 5 euro note.
No air conditioning in the tiny bedroom made for a really bad night's sleep. Avoid like the plague if staying for leisure, because there is nothing enjoyable about this hotel. Not suitable for business visitors unless on a really tight budget.

Stayed there one night because I missed my connection to Erfurt. Has a free airport shuttle, and free breakfast, which was quite good. Offers wireless Internet for a fee but only in the lobby and on the first floor. Post is an older hotel with bit outdated decor. Rooms are big and my bed was very comfortable so that's all that mattered. Restaurant closed pretty early so make sure you eat before hand because there is nothing near by to get food. It is way outside of the city so it is not a hotel one would want to stay if visiting Frankfurt for longer periods of time.

  • Liked — good rate and near the airport
  • Disliked — no food after 9pm.
  • Tips/Secrets — if you want internet make sure your room is on the 1st floor!
