“noisy airport hotel full with Chinese groups”

I needed to change flights and thought it was a good idea, unfortunately not. The hotel pick up with shuttle worked and I got picked up after15min from a rather unfriendly driver, because it was 10pm. The check in was slow and unfriendly. My room was ok, but my window was not closing probably and the flight noise was unbearable at 5am. Happy to made it thru the night on a lousy mattress, I was looking forward for a good breakfast. The experience there was horrible, while trying to protect my table the Chinese group was eating everything which was not fixed to the wall.
I will go the next time further away from the airport and spend a few Euros for a taxi instead of returning to this kind of Airport Hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times before, catching an early flight out from FRA, trying to stay faithful to the IHG Brand but my last stay was not so great. On arrival, the Front office staff was talking on the phone about her dinner plans- and while I was waiting for 3 min or so in front of her I ask if she wants me to come back another time in order to check in - her answer was that the system is down and she could not check me in anyway. 30 minutes and a coffee later the system was back and the check in could be done. The rooms are very small - for one night ok - but nothing to remember. We meet with Friends at the Bar - Respect to the "One man schow Bar tender" - the bar was full and his service was great, food was average.
Check out next morning was efficent

I have stayed at this hotel quite a few times before catching an early flight out from FRA, trying to stay faithful to the IHG Brand. My last experience was the worst ever, and I will be looking for an alternative next trip.

The worst part is the airport shuttle - quite important for an "Airport Hotel" located 15km away from the airport. There is one bus every 30 mins, 8 passengers max. You have to reserve it the night before, and if you are unlucky, the time you want will already be full. And the time earlier & later. Then you have the choice of either paying for a taxi, or getting up an hour earlier than necessary just to take the available early bus. At check-in, I was advised to call ahead in the afternoon to reserve my place on the bus - great for me, but doesn't solve the capacity issue & just pushes the problem to someone else. No apology for this from the check-in staff. Even worse, some people don't know they have to reserve a place, and then risk missing flights. Once, I saw a fight nearly break out over the last seat.

On top of this bad shuttle experience:
- No recognition for IHG Platinum status at check-in
- Long wait for check-in (at 21:15)
- Bar area completely full - no chance to sit down for a meal
- Staff generally unfriendly & unhelpful
- Room was too hot, window doesn't open, wouldn't cool with AC
- Waited 45 mins at FRA for pick-up in the evening - "due to heavy traffic"

I have tried to give this hotel 2nd & 3rd chances, but the last shuttle bus experience was a final deal-breaker.

As the title suggests this airport is about 15km from the airport but yet seems slap bang on the approach path to the runway, so bang on 6am you get the jet noise. There must be parts of the hotel less noisey than others but it might be worth your while asking when you check in.

Enjoyed the small bar. Helpful multilingual staff.

Reception was very helpful, beautiful english spoken and generally reminiscent of a classier hotel. Most impressed. Aiport shuttle bus available if you want it but watch out - BOOK IN ADVANCE AT RECEPTION OR YOU'LL BE SORRY.

Wi fi is very expensive and that did annoy me but the rooms are nice and I had a goodnights sleep.

Room Tip: Ask at reception if there is a room away from the approach path to the runway.

Aside from a long delay in getting transport to the hotel (I recommend if the wait is said to be long just take a taxi to the hotel from the airport its about 20 Euro) this place was terrific. The rooms are nothing too exciting, typical Euro-airport fare, but the front desk service was outstanding. They helped arrange a late night dinner outing including a ride from the shuttle driver to the restaurant. That morning the shuttle was very prompt and the ride to T2 was about 20 minutes. I have no complaints and I would say the front desk service was outstanding.

Whilst our stay in the hotel room was up to standard, it was the wait staffing their restaurant that really let the establishment down. Upon our arrival we could not find any staff and when we did, we were told quite curtly that as it was a busy, we would just have to wait. I counted a table of maybe 18 patrons and a few tables with couples on them. Hardly a busy night in my eyes. We then had to wait an hour and a half for our meal to be served ones the order was finally taken.

Chose this hotel because of it's location and shuttle to the airport for an early flight out. Checked in and was told no shuttle openings were available and I would have to take a cab (24 euros). At check in I was also told breakfast was included in the room price but found out when I checked out breakfast was 18 euro per person. This was the most expensive breakfast I encountered in the 2.5 weeks and 8 cities in Europe. The morning counter person said she would "talk to the night clerk" which really made me mad. She did not offer breakfast or reimbursement of taxi cost. The room was also really hot and we were unable to lower the temperature or open the windows in the room.
