Just returned from Frankfurt, where i stayed 8-11.09.2011. I was shocked, the room smelled of smoke, the carpets were so dirty, so i asked to change roo. This was posibble next day only. The bad was clean, the pillow very poor quality.
Breakfast- very bad, for 3 stars, .
The staff very pleasant, but guest are not paying for staff quality.
SO my recomandation is to avoid this hotel in future.

Room Tip: the owner must invest in the quality of the rooms

Great friendly hotel very close to the main shopping area, the zoo and the river.
There is a tram stop outside the hotel
And the room was very comfortable nice clean bathroom and clean towels.
Very friendly reception staff and WiFi available which I found very good value
Hope the guy behind the reception found his whisky

Overall, hotel is good value for money for those on a budget or those on a night stop in the city.
Hotel is centrally located, within walking distance to the shopping areas as well as banks.
Facilities include buffet breakfast, which I must say was not too impressive.
Very fast internet(wifi) facilities at a nominal fee.
Staff at the hotel are quite friendly and happy to assist.
They also provide city tour facilities.

Found the hotel online and booked without too much thought. Stayed there for a week. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. 'Allerheiligentor' station is right at the hotel doorstep. Around 15 minutes from Frankfurt Hbf by train. Easy walk to shopping area. Location is the big plus.

In terms of value for money, the Luxor Hotel is one of the finest in which I have ever stayed, particularly in an expensive city like Frankfurt. It is a well-furnished and superbly well-maintained property, with large comfortable double rooms that include TV and a mini-bar.

The counter staff were very pleasant and helpful, while guiding me on my daily coverages of the city. All other staff were also pleasant and courteous.
The warm buffet breakfast was quite substantial and very well prepared. The guests were particularly charmed by the restaurant head, who would go out of his way to charm the guests, and was a delightful conversationist. One day, when the tea/coffee/hot chocolate disperser did not work, he offered me, on his own initiative, warm milk and chocolate powder for my favourite beverage.

While far from the Hauptbahnhof main railway station, Luxor Hotel is right opposite the U-bahn (tram) stop at Allerheiligentor stop. It is also within easy walking distance of the famed Frankfurt zoo, the Dom (cathedral), the Zeil shopping area, and other attractions.

I have had a very pleasant stay at Luxor Hotel, and would love to stay there again some day.. I would also unhesitatingly recommend it to all who visit Frankfurt.

We were booked to stay at Luxor for 4 nights, in 2 rooms. Arrived at 7pm, exhausted after a very long flight just to be told that the hotel was overbooked and we've been booked to stay at the hotel down the road for the first night. So we did, didnt really want to argue. Came back the next morning for breakfast and were told the rooms won't be ready till after 1pm!! Horrible service, we have 2 little kids, it was raining, so had to leave our bags at reception and kill time wondering around town.
We were somewhat relieved when checking in to the rooms as they are spacious, bedding and bathroom OK, but the carpet is dirty. Soundproof windows were good.
Staff smoke at the reception desk and guests smoke in the hallways and rooms, which is disgusting. There were tables in the hallway with ashtrays on them, one night there was a group of men at the table on our floor, playing poker and smoking!
Breakfast is very basic. The breakfast cook, Marcello, is the best person at this hotel, he was very friendly, and gave the kids chocolates which was nice.
Tram is just outside the hotel, which was handy.
Wifi internet wasnt too expensive and worked OK.
All in all, this is an over priced budget hotel, avoid staying here if you can.

We stayed in the Luxor for one night when we arrived in Frankfurt... Staff were nice enough, car parking is very very tight but it was there...The hotal smelled of smoke, our room was small and dingy, the carpet filthy, and it reaked of smoke. The area was not the best, in the red light district.
