“Too Far From Airport”
Reviewed 18 July 2012

Although this was a clean and friendly place to stay, with a good choice for the included buffet breakfast, I think it is located too far away from the airport (if that is where you need to get to). It cost Eu30 by taxi, and although much cheaper by public transport (Eu4.50 for train to Central then bus to hotel), it took nearly 2h with the added negative of dragging luggage. Next time I would spend more (ie the taxi fare!) and stay closer to the airport.
It was disappointing not to have free wifi in the rooms, but is available in th lobby (which has a nice bar, run by a friendly guy)

Room Tip: Floor 2 is a non-smoking floor which we were very glad to have.

We enjoyed this hotel. The rooms were very nice. The breakfast buffet was great. The only complaint I have was that it was not close to anything we had to walk 12 minutes to get something to eat, 15 minutes to the trains station. If you have a car it would be great for the money.

Dear guests,

Many thanks for your positive review! We are happy that you point out what we want to offer: A comfortable and clean please with a good breakfast!

The closest restaurants are about 10 minutes walking distance, for example at the riverfront at Westhafen, a marina at the "Main" river.

Also, bus line 37 gets you quickly - in about 7 minutes - to the central station. The bus stop is just in front of the hotel and the bus runs frequently at least every 10-15 minutes, every 30 minutes in the evening and on weekends.

Looking forward to welcoming you to Frankfurt again.

Best regards
Martin and team

We stayed in Frankfurt for 3 nights. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful for the most part. The breakfast buffet was simple but complete. The room is more spacious than many hotels that we've stayed in around Europe. The free internet in the lobby doesn't really work very well. There's not much to do around the hotel, but there's a bus stop across the street that takes you to the central station. You can buy two day bus tickets from the front desk, for some reason they don't offer before you ask, so ask! It's cheaper than buying day tickets in the ticket counters.

Hi,

Many thanks for your nice feedback - we were happy to read it!

The hotel offers a discounted public transport ticket for 2 consecutive days at a current price of 8,80 EUR per person incl. trips way to the airport. For comparison, a single day pass is 6,50 EUR without airport access.

However, from two up five adults (or kids) consider to buy a group day pass, which is currently at 9,50 EUR per group excl. airport. These tickets are valid for busses, trams, U and S metro systems. That's really the best deal you can get - available with bus drivers or at ticket machines.

All the best from Frankfurt

Enjoyable staying.
Nice people, service, clean, great breakfast.
It would be perfect if it would have been provided free Internet in rooms.

Before staying at this hotel, I had stayed Intercity Frankfurt and Mercury Hotel Kaiserhof Frankfurt City Center on Jan and Mar. This hotel is equipped with much cleaner carpet and bed sheet than those two hotels. My room was located at right up of the front gate (face to road). However, when I closed the window, I barely heard sound from the window outside. So I slept very well during my stay.
I was there because of the exhibition - 2012 ACHEMA. The distance between the hotel and Messe was a little bit far. First day, I walked to the nearest S bahn station-Galluswarte for taking train to Messe. It took me 10 minutes from hotel to the station. From second day, I got to Messe by walk and spent me 30 to 40 minutes. So if you plan to attend or visit the exhibition at Frankfurt Messe and you don't want to walk for a while, it's better for you to choose another hotel. But if you are the one (just like me!) who likes to take a walk as an exercise, it's a good one for you!
All in all, if you are looking for a hotel with warn hospitality staffs, a clean room, and a cozy environment, here will be a good choice!!

Room Tip: Rooms on off road side are quieter! Bus (No.37) is the best convenient way to get to the hotel! (Bu...

Very friendly and helpful staff, clean room with good beds. Parking garage, for 12 euros. Super breakfast included. The area around the hotel is rather commercial with limited dining choices. We were there on Sunday and some places were closed, but found a take away shop with good food.

Dear Guests,

Many thanks for your positive review!

Sundays are indeed not very busy in Germany as all shop need to be closed with exception of train station outlets and airport shopping malls.

Looking forward to welcoming you to Holiday Inn Express another time!

I stayed in this hotel over a weekend in between business activities This hotel was within (long) walking distance of the Hauptbahnhof. The staff was very helpful and efficient. The room was very clean and workable and there were no problems with the internet. The location was a little remote with respect to things to do and places to eat but I managed because I do not mind long walks. The price was fair and the breakfast was good for a Holiday Inn Express. There were no hot foods but the cold selections were reasonable.

Hi,

Many thanks for your positive review!
Walking from the train station might indeed be a little bite too inconvenient, in particular with luggage.

Bus 37 runs frequently in 7-8 minutes and stops in front of the hotel. Monday to Friday every 10-15 minutes, evening and weekends/bank holidays every 30 minutes. Mind waiting? A taxi from the station will cost you about 6-7 € per ride; really worth it if you are travelling with more than one person.
