We were visiting tradeshow at the messe. Me plus three colleagues shared room 402, with four beds. Approx 70€ /person/night. Owned by the Chinese and in the borders of the red light district, it was more comfortable than expected.
The music they play during breakfast was horrible and very loud. It made the mornings really bad. Wifi was ok. Beds were hard but ok. Warm water was ok. Location is central, walking distance to both the messe and railway station. We didn't have to stay there other than to sleep so it was ok. I was offered 'services' outside on the street maybe 3-5 times during two days.

I stayed here as I left my travel arrangements very late and could not book into any other Hotels due to an exhibition at the Messe. The room (309) is sparse, some of the electrics are dangerous, as I write the waistbin is propping up the adaptor. The room is warm, so no complaints about that. The bed was a bit hard for me but I slept well........until I was woken up by a disturbance in the street. I think there is a drop in centre for down and outs a few hundred metres away. It was resolved with police and a loudhailer... oh joy...

The hotel restaurant is closed as there is no chef. The Chinese run hotel, whose other guests are predominately Chinese, is next to a Chinese restaurant, but that is closed too... however should I desire some adult excitement I am spoilt for choice as this is definitely in the Red light area just across from the South Station. Dinner last night was a rather delicious Bratvurst sausage with lashings of mustard...... although I think someone was being lashed in a different way in a room above the street vendor who looked after my food desire, if you are adventurous there are some great sights to see.. especially the mannekins adorning the balcony of one particular " club"...

The hotel staff have been helpful to me, lending me a travel adaptor for my electrical devices (no laughter please). I have found some great restaurants on Kaiserstrasse so will venture out tonight and report. All in all not the best of places I have been too.... I passed the Steigenburg Frankfurter Hotel..now that looks great!

Room Tip: Hmmmmm, I am tempted to say any other hotel but maybe a room at the back of the hotel I if it has a...

We stayed in this hotel just for one night (fortunately): since we live in Mainz we decided to go for a trip to Frankfurt and then to stay there for the night. So we looked for a cheap hotel, that was also near the station. We went around and we found out that the hotel is in the redlight side of the city (but that could also not be a very big problem)...
The receptionist talked almost just German, a bit of English and we had a problem with a toilet, that was resolved with a pail, in which we should put water...
And finally, I forgot my beauty-bag in the room: when I came back home I called the hotel, but "the housekeeper has already cleaned the room, so probably she threw your things away."
I kindly asked then what should I have done and the answer was "Now nothing." Obviously everything in German, so hard to understand.
So I would never recommend this hotel.
