Owner description: The Nauheimer family has been active in boating and shipping since 1880 on the Main River. It was Peter Nauheimer who in 1880 bought the steamboat "Germania", refurbished it and launched it as his first boat under the name of "Frankfurt". The offer of transportation across the Main waterway was an immediate success. In fact, Captain Peter Nauheimer was warned by officials not to exceed the authorised number of 200 passengers onboard the "Germania". In 1888, the first landing stage outside Frankurt, in the bordering village of Schwanheim, was built. Documents dating back to 1887 show the impressive frequency with which the steamboat travelled between Frankfurt and Schwanheim. It also laid down the long-standing family boating tradition.Anton Nauheimer, Peter's great-grandson, founded the "Frankfurter Personenschiffahrt Anton Nauheimer GmbH" in 1980. Today, the company owns five striking boats that are known as "Primus Linie" and transport passengers along the Main, Rhine and Neckar Rivers. In contrast to 1880 today's boats serve the leisure activities of the company's guests, rather than acting solely as a means of transportation for workers everyday.

Frankfurt boat cruise
We went upstream through the working area.
Can't say it was particularly scenic but some people might find seeing a working port interesting.
Nice view of old town at the start.
Food and drinks available to buy onboard and ticket 10 euro
If u have a spare hour or more ok way to spend the time on a nice day

“Frankfurt river cruise.”
Reviewed 5 June 2014

We took the 100 minute trip and have no complaints at all. The boat was modern, clean and the crew very pleasant. Drinks were available and brought to our seat outside. The big plus was that the commentary was in English as well as German (unlike a trip that I took in Berlin some time ago) A great way to see the ultra modern skyline of what is sometimes referred to as 'Mainhatten.

“Relaxing boat ride”
Reviewed 20 May 2014

I took the 100 minute tour on a sunny day. The ticket kiosk and boarding of the boat is right beside the Mainkai side of the Eisener Steg bridge. For 10 euro it was a good investment to see Frankfurt from the River Main in a nice, clean & spacious boat. Since the banks of the Main are mostly industrial areas, there really aren't any outstanding sights, mostly modern office buildings, parks and warehouse structures - hey, it isn't the Rhine!

You had to get the server's attention if you wanted a refreshment or lunch - they did not come around to ask. If you plan on eating, grab the server as soon as possible to give you enough time to get your order and eat/drink it. Decent prices and good food.

The announcements (in both German & English) were few and far between - which tells you that there isn't a whole lot of interesting things to see from the river - but having said that, it was a nice way to spend an hour & 40 minutes and gave me a good perspective of where different landmarks were located to get my bearings once on land.

Don't expect too much - but for 10 euro, it was a pretty darn good backdrop to have lunch & a beer.

“Save the aggravation”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

I do not recommend this company. The wait staff on this tour was terrible! The order did not arrive until after the boat had turned around for the return. The staff was quite rude.

The boat and restroom facilities were clean. The ticket process was quick and English is spoken.

“Main River, Frankfurt, Germany.”
Reviewed 2 April 2014

The main river cruise is certainly not one to be missed and the surrounding are best enjoyed on a sunny day. Adjacent to the Main River is the place where the Christmas market is staged every year. On one side of the river bed is the park where you would find people doing all kinds of activities like jogging, cycling, playing e.t.c. Apart from the river cruise, you can also try the train ride in a old fashioned steam engine on the other side of the river bed.
