“Typical station”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 July 2014

As the transport hub it is excellent, The area around it is not so good but that can be said for railway stations in many major cities.
There are the usual fast food outlets available and in the underground concourse there is a pharmacy that is open extended hours including Sundays.

If using the long distance rail lines its worth noting that it is a terminus station so through trains leave facing the opposite direction to which they arrive.

Most services seem to run with German efficiency and the station announcements on the major routes are made in English as well as German.

I find that the German public transport system is generally complicated but this is about as good as it gets.

“Clean busy but still with a nice touch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014 via mobile

I have to say, the germans are the most clean, organized and friendly ppl I have ever met. Their organization is seen even on their train stations. One of them, frankfurt train station is a busy huge station and what have impressed me was the cleanliness of the place in contrast to other european cities where the train stations are dirty and not well conserved.

“Easy train station to navigate! ”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014 via mobile

Got off the train from the airport (€4.35 one way) found my way around easily and the staff were very helpful. Lots of cafés (McDonald's and Burger King among others) and tourist shops for knickknacks. When I was leaving to go home from Frankfurt I purchased my ticket from the allocated machines but alternatively you can purchase your ticket from The cashiers inside the main entrance of the train station.
The building itself is beautiful from the outside but has lots it's charm on the inside.

“Traveller-friendly train station”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof is generally very easy to get around, and there are public toilets available, many different food shops, and other amenities.

The S-Bahn station (still hauptbahnhof) is unfortunately often populated with homeless people and drug addicts, and the platforms could be a lot cleaner. Just be aware of the people around you, and don't travel alone very late at night if possible.

Other than that, the train station is acceptable and worth a visit, especially if you're interested in train stations, rail travel, or architecture.

Typical red light district. Need drugs or payed sex (all kind of) this is the area to go. Münschner Strasse is small Turkey and can be visited day-time to try some yummy food.
