“Awesome Hotel!”
Reviewed 21 April 2009

This was such a great stay. The staff went above & beyond their call of duty from the front desk clerks to the bar tenders & wait staff. We enjoyed our stay & would definitely revisit this hotel if ever in Frankfurt again. We checked in quite early ( around 11:00 am) as our International flight arrived earlier than expected but that never seemed to present a problem at check-in as they accomodated us with great warmth & professionalism. The room & entire hotel is very modern & clean. The restaurant & bar have good food, drinks and service. The hotel is quite convenient to the Transit system, just a short 5-10 min walk to subway, trolleys & train station. They helped us with train travel info. & tours at the front desk. Every morning the cleaning crew left you candy on your pillow. Their coffee is delicious and the bar area is open late for food & drinks. Everyone spoke English very well & were willing to assist us in any way we needed. Free Internet service in Lobby helped us keep connected to loved ones in the States and was available anytime. So all in all this was a wonderful hotel, affordable and the location was great. It had a nice exercise facility and a rooftop outdoor area for city sights. The room was so well insulated that we never heard a noise during night hours. Made for comfortable sleeping! They are going to start construction accross the hotel for shopping & restaurants so I imagine this location will be in even greater demand in the future. Most everything is a la carte, so bring your Euros, but otherwise you will enjoy this stay. Would recommend for couples or business travelers... :)

The hotel is a business type hotel but is great because you feel there is a genuine worry that your stay is perfect. It is 4 blocks from the subway that takes you everywhere. It was pretty cold but it didn't really bother. We spent Christmas in this town and it was really romantic (which we weren't expecting to be). I would definitely recommend and go back next time.

  • Liked — Warm bathroom tiles
  • Disliked — The first room didn't have water in the shower. They changed us imediatly to one that was OK.

I have stayed in that hotel on numerous occasions and it is now my favorite due to ample free parking on the street (once in a while, it's full, but not often) since it is in an uncrowded part of Frankfurt. Although it is a little far from the touristy parts of the city, I've come to appreciate its quietness as well as the abundance of amenities. Free Wi-Fi comes to mind.

Breakfast was 18 Euros, pretty reasonable among 3 star hotels, but this Movenpick is a 4 star hotel. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with mushrooms, hash browns, sausage, wide variety of pastries, juice, eggs, and more.

It is one of the newer hotels and the furnishing's pretty new, although a tad bit IKEA-ish. The television offers quite a few channels, including Arabic and British.

If you are not driving, I would not really recommend this hotel, but if you're driving, then by all means, this hotel IS IT!

  • Liked — Free Wi-Fi, Great Breakfast, Spacious Room, Very Modern, Decent Parking in Front
  • Disliked — Proximity to Frankfurt's attractions

only neutral from my side because of the very poor location (even worse than Marriott or Marritim)

yes it is in the city centre but in order to reach any kind of facility like restaurant or shopping area you need to walk around the "Festhalle" complex (hotel is behind the fairgrounds and there absolutely nothing around!!!) The nearest area with shops and restaurants is 2km away. From the U4 station you need to walk ca. 500m (a problem if you have heavy laguage).

Hotel itself is new (2005) modern and stylish decor even I'd miss a Sauna or Pool for a real 4* experience. We got it for 40 EUR/night excl. BF at priceline which is adequate (not even a real special deal as you get similar rates for low season in Frankfurt around 45 EUR incl. BF) - 250 EUR (normal rates) are too much for this hotel far from the scene!!

Conclusion: not recommended even for 40 EUR/night - take a hotel closer to restaurants and shops

  • Liked — free WiFi!, nice decor (2005)

This hotel has all of the modern German style and ammenities - everything very clean and new, heated tile bathroom floor, walk-in shower (literally, see photo), high water pressure, water is hot the instant you turn it on, high ceilings, and floor to ceiling windows for a great view of Frankfurt's skyline. The bar and restaurant are also reasonably priced. We stayed here for one night prior to flying to Italy. Only one subway station away from the Frankfurt central train station (for easy access to the city), and from there only about 20 min with the commuter rail directly to the airport. The room rates are very reasonable when there is not an event happening at the Messe. There is also a nice fitness room on the top floor with great views of the skyline.

As there was a major tradeshow in Frankfurt during our initial one night layover in Frankfurt, it was very difficult to find any reasonably priced lodging (i.e. clean, somewhat comfortable). We ended up paying a little over $200 USD (includes the extra taxes, fees) for the one night stay (exchange rates very volatile this year-2008, so won't mention rate in Euros). This was prepaid, as Priceline requires.

The hotel room was large for European standards, and as mentioned in other reviews, the bathroom and the room's modern, sleek look are nice. The architecture of the building itself is not to die for, but it does not matter; its deep red/burgundy exterior color made it easier to locate if you're walking from the train station (it's a good 10-15 minute walk depending upon which route...). At the time, there was a big empty lot opposite the main entrance of the hotel and a circus show was being held.

The staff were friendly enough. We did not try the restaurant or buffet as we were in for the night and out early the next morning.

However, the elevators are very small; if people were traveling with a lot of luggage, you might only fit two people in at a time.

No complaints other than plan ahead and avoid arriving or departing Frankfurt during peak trade shows so you won't have to pay exorbitant hotel prices. That being said, the priceline price was less than half the rate being quoted by the hotel and other travel websites for the same night; neighboring hotels all had increased prices.

  • Liked — Quiet. Nice room.
  • Disliked — Walked from train station to hotel...first time took a bit to find the hotel.

First of all, I booked this hotel through Priceline (name your own price) and ended up paying $40 US for a great room. While there are no tourist attractions near the hotel, it is only 1 metro stop from the main train station or a 10 minute walk.

The hotel is in a quiet area of the city, near the convention centre. The room was really attractive, comfortable & large with all the amenities you'd expect. The staff was very friendly and courteous.

It's been mentioned on Trip Advisor already but make sure at check-out that you confirm your bill - I was erroneously charged 2 breakfasts (@19 euros a pop) for my 1 night stay. It was removed without question but be vigilant!

  • Liked — The room was really lovely.
  • Disliked — There are no shops and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.
