Owner description: The Commerzbank-Arena stands on the site of its great predecessor – the legendary Frankfurt Waldstadion. It forms an integral part of German sporting history and has always been the focal point of life in the region. The Waldstadion has gone through many changes in the past and has now, at the start of the new millennium, been completely refurbished and given a new strategic concept. The fantastic sportsmen who have played here and the spectacular football matches that have taken place are never to be forgotten. The new arena was built for sports, concerts, business events and all kinds of large gatherings. Depending on the event, it can hold up to 55,000 spectators – multi-functionality is an important aspect. The exact circumference is 860 metres; the length is 210 metres and the width 190 metres. No pillars obstruct direct view onto the pitch and the front rows are only a few metres away from the edge of the field.

Located just 2 train stops outside the city, this modern stadium captures the essence of the fans.
I went there to support Maccabi Tel-Aviv in its away game vs. Eintract Frankfurt football match. Though our 2000 fans tried to sing loud, we were no match to the 30000 Frankfurt fans.
The songs bounce around the stadium brilliantly.

We spent a great day walking around Frankfurt, then went to the Frankfurt/Bremen game in the evening. We caught the train to the stadium from the city center about 2 hours before kick-off and the train was a extremely crowded, very tough to get on, and was lots people smashed together for the ride. I don't mind this, but if you are claustrophobic or don't like being shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers, go earlier or drive to the stadium. When we got to the stadium, we had to wait about 35 minutes in the ticket line to enter (good thing we went so early!). The stadium is nice, not amazing, but a nice arena and the game was awesome!

Saw Eintracht play Dusseldorf. If you are a football fan this is the way to watch the game. Arriving near the stadium over an hour before kick-off gave us time enjoy the "Bundesliga pre-match" bratwurst & lots of beer. The stadium itself is superb & with a near capacity 52,000 attendance the atmosphere was fantastic & noisy throughout the game. This was no doubt helped by the constant flow of beer that the fans appear to consume. Despite this, & away supporters mixing with home fans, we never saw any trouble before, during or after the match. As a keen football fan in England it made me realise we have a lot to learn from the Bundesliga.
