The staff could not speak good English and is not patient to explain further about the menu. We've ordered one platter for 2 persons, while the staff told us we could have pork chop, pork kunckle and sausages for the dish. Finally we were charged for 1 more separate dish (the waiter hasn't clearly told us about the extra cost when we ordered the platter). Also, we haven't ordered the green sauce but the staff still served us that and charged us without any notifications. I would say another old restaurant next to it, (which we've tried the day before, serving same traditional German dish) would be far more better.

Very German food! 100% recommended. Try the Apple Cider and the dish with pork shoulder. If its full try asking if you can seat on a table with free seats, germans are used to share table. It's also a good place to meet people since the tables are long and very tight together, you for sure will end up talking with your neighbour. English and german menus.

I was here with friends (Who live in Frankfurt) in September 2013, having been informed on the car journey there, that this restaurant would give you the real german experience, almost untouched by Western (often American) influences.

...I was not dissapointed!

Upon entering the courtyard, I decided to take loads of pics and marvel at the decor. What I found amazing was the waiters in traditional white overcoats(like the ones Dr's use in a hospital) running about serving food and carrying multiple jugs of baeers!

I knew I was going to get the real German feel about this place when every accent....was surprise surprise...German!

Food was homemade and had that no thrills look to it. Enjoyed the green sauce and Saurkraut with schnitzel very much so.

Had a great time and the staff could not have been nicer. Loved Frankfurt compared to Berlin, Hamburg, Bremen and Munich.

Recommend trying this place out. Take loads of pics

Enjoy

I was taken there with a group of German colleagues, who knew what they were ordering. The local food (a shared platter of sausages and sauerkraut in our case) was superb, combined with apple wine (best with 50% fizzy water). Great traditional place, beautiful exterior, basic no nonsense inside.

If you German is not 100%, keep your order simple and fussy eaters be warned: vegetarian food and diet salad will not be on the menu.

Decided to visit this place after comparing reviews with the other restaurants. Overall we had a good experience dining in a authentic (or at least we thought it was) restaurant. Service was ok, and the food was good.
