“The Tax evasion scheme”
Reviewed 3 March 2014

I have been to this restaurant on three occasions with a large group. Invariably the server will come with the check at the end of the meal and the bill will have a few "extras" on it. But as a group this goes unnoticed. Then the server will say the credit card machine is "kaput!" and will ask someone - or everyone - to go to the cash machine (not a short distance away) and get cash. If you are in town with a convention, they know that 9 times out of 10 they can get away with this. Its not just the server - the owner is complicit in this little scam. The last time we went and they did this we refused to pay cash. They even demanded I leave a copy of my passport! I told them I would pay them with my credit card whenever they got their machine "fixed". We called the police and just as the y arrived suddenly the credit card machine worked. There is a bother restaurant in the area that offers the "steak on stone" experience and it was actually much better food and beer. Give this place a pass - or make sure you bring LOTS of Euros to pay them off at the end of your meal.

“Something different ....”
Reviewed 21 February 2014

Steiner Haus is definitely different. There's really no need to see the menu - its a large fillet and beer. 'been loads of times over the years and its always a fun night although I think the steaks are getting smaller .... or my capacity has increased which is also possible! No they are definitely smaller but this place is still worth a visit.... provided you like beef that is?

“Great Traditional German experience.”
Reviewed 7 February 2014

Very convenient location, and total German ambiance. Portk Scnitzel "Hunter style" is a wonderful choice. "super Filet" on the Lava stone is a must - especially for the sauces which take it to the next level. Dinner would not be complete without Neuremburg roast sausage. Order several entrees and share with your table. The only complaint I have is that the service is extremely "gruff." No warm fuzzies there.

“Great Stone fired steak”
Reviewed 18 December 2013

A friend knew I go Frankfurt and the first thing he did is that he recommended this restaurant to us and so five of us went there. We ordered a pork and beef and salad, of coz cannot miss the sausages… we saw most of the customer’s order shrimp that one… wow…….lovely!!!!
We can control the meats to be medium/well done…etc. very funny… and the sides dishes are nice too!!!

“Perfect for a traditional Frankfurt meal”
Reviewed 3 December 2013

This restaurant serves good traditional Frankfurt dishes, as well as more classic dishes. We tried the "Frankfurt plate", which was a plate with different Frankfurt sausages, some meat, some "sauerkraut", exactly what we were looking for.
The meal was good, it tasted home-made. We were definitely glad about this dish.

The ambiance is really convivial, there are big tables (6 people on average), which you share with other groups when you are less than 6. This makes this restaurant really friendly.

This is the perfect restaurant if you want to get immersed in the Frankfurt cuisine.
