“A must see”

built in the VIII century, it has catacumbs. The altar is round because it dates from an early time in the history of the church when authority was not distant from the people. A jewel!

“Very atmospheric”
Reviewed 1 August 2013

The church is across from the much larger Cathedral and is superbly located on top of a little hill. Although small, you get a sense of its age (11-12th centuries, built over a 9th-century church). Be sure to visit the crypt, where there is a 9th-century column remaining. They don't allow photos. Afterwards, relax and sit on the benches outside that face down into the cathedral square.

“Romanesque”
Reviewed 12 May 2013

One of those wonderful 9th century churches where you FEEL history! Is is a church which has a round structure - very rare! thy crypt is centered as well, with a little altar ... And have a look to the columns and frescos... Do NOT miss it, when you are in Fulda!!

“Middle Age is here to stay!”

Do not miss it, for no reason. A Charle Magne age church, with kript and frescos. Extremely rare, exotic, fasinating.

“Not cheap”
Reviewed 13 March 2010

The huge Cathedral in Fulda is free of charge. This much and much smaller St. Micheals church charges 5 Euro entrancefee per person. So you better see the cathedral. However, when we were there it was closed. So no interior pix... The chuch is on a slope, thus makes great pix.
