We visited this restaurant on the recommendation of a relative. The menu had good choices and we opted for the cordon bleu schnitzel and a hamburger steak stuffed with feta cheese, it came with fries and a salad, reasonably priced at 8-10 Euros. The restaurant itself is cozy and comfortable. The location is a short walk from the city hall. The service was prompt and efficient but without any friendliness. Maybe the server was having a bad day but a smile doesn't cost anything!

The best Schnitzel in Kassel, IMHO. Very central, excellent quality, nice atmosphere and consistently good service. I have been enjoying traditional German food here for many years.

Located in downtown Kassel, the Eckstein is the place to got for every age group, budget and size of hunger.

The food is awesome. The pizza bread is the best I have eaten. It is served hot with a dip. The noodles and pizzas are delicious as well. There is nothing bad I can say about the food. Go there and try anything from the menu and you will love it. I can recommend esp. anything with seafood.

The service is fast and friendly, drinks are not overpriced and the interior of the restaurant is very cozy and comfortable. Big windows allow you to overlook the intersection at Rathaus but you never feel presented to the public.

On holidays it is difficult to get a table but is worth the the try.
