You can walk up to this monument, but much better to take the cable car, which gives you great views over the river and surrounding area. The monument itself is very impressive, and it is set in beautiful grounds.

As part of our river cruise we had the opportunity to take the cable car up the mountain to this monument. The viewing platform offers great views over the river in both directions.

An impressive statue commemorating the unification of Germany in 1871. Beautiful views from here over Rudesheim and the surrounding area. We used the cable car to get to and fro. Recommend visiting

Is the monument worth visiting, well it is pretty and is quite large and some great craftsmanship. The significant addition to this is the view up there and to enjoy walking around on high ground and look over the river and wine yards.

Extra worth taking the "Seilbahn" up and down alternatively a walk of 30-45 min through lovely wine yards.

Seilbahn 8€ adult 4€ kids in mid July please be aware of seasonal price or special events can affect the price.
