“Comfortable, good value and stylish”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 February 2010

Stayed one night at this hotel en route back from Austrian ski holiday. Very friendly, welcoming place, comfortable, modern rooms and very fast internet connection. Clearly off season when we were there as the place very very quiet. Restaurant good and evening food reasonably priced, breakfast included and all six of us agreed one of the best hotel breakfasts we'd ever had! The hotel is part of a big wine estate and generous with free glass of (excellent) wine on arrival and their own sparkling wine for breakfast if you fancy it. However (note of caution) we found drinks from the bar extremely pricey - even the house wine was over £20 a bottle (though again very good). In general a great stopover and we will use again. Rudesheim itself pretty but with some tourist tack.

We came across this hotel quiet by accident. Walking down the street we smelled these wonderful aromas and decided to eat the restaurant. We wandered around town and then decided that we would stay here for a few more days. We went to the tourist information bureau and were promptly advised that all the hotels were sold out for the festival. Discouraged were decided to try the Schloss. Upon our return we were greated by the owner who advise us that he definitely had a room for 2 nights and would make sure he would find us something for the 3rd. They made it happen and we didn't even have to move rooms. The service was amazing. The owners and staff went out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. They even organized a vineyard walk for their interested guests.

Stayed 2 nights with husband on a week-long Rhine river tour. Staff was very helpful. We were able to purchase tickets through them for the chairlift to the Niederwald monument above the town (base of chairlift about a 2 block walk from the hotel), and a round-trip castle cruise on the Rhine. They were even nice enough to encourage us to wait until the next day to purchase the cruise tickets so that we could judge by the weather for the day if we still wanted to go. Ate in the restaurants both nights (!), which is unheard of I know, but we loved the food/ atmosphere. Room was modern and spotless, my only wish is that the soundproofing from the hallway were better.

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel and found it to be comfortable and clean. The room was basic with timber floors and a very firm mattress. The hotel is in a great location right next door to the Drossel Gasse, which is full of touristy shops and quite expensive. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included in the price and was the usual continental selection of cold meats and cheeses, cereals, breads and juices. Free internet access is available at the front reception. A bowl of apples is available for you to enjoy anytime. The hotel has a beer garden out the back and it's quite noise until late at night so try and get a room on the other side of the hotel. Our room faced the vinyards and was still quite noisy from people walking up and down the wooden floor of the corridor and outside noises from church bells and people talking and yelling, so it was not possible to sleep with the windows open.
The hotel is in a very good location compared to the hotels on the main road. There are road works going on from early morning and the train line runs parallel with the road in front of the river.

Rooms good size, very comfortable. Hotel decor impressive. Excellent location, plenty of interesting eating and drinking places within easy walking distance, although the hotel itself has a fine beer garden.

Staff extremely helpful , the only problem was that we couldn't extend our one night stay as the hotel was fully booked.

Loved the chiming clock!

This hotel alone is worth visiting Rudesheim. Our room, with balcony, was large and lovely. The welcome sekt and breakfast the next day were fabulous. The staff, including Mr. Breuer, were gracious and efficient. One of the best hotels of our trip and worth the extra splurge.
