I had an immaculately clean room, with en Suite shower, over looking the Rhine. The welcome as a 'Walk in' guest, was warm and the proprietor spoke good English. I was helped up to my room with my luggage from the private car park at the back of the Hotel, which, as there was no lift was a great help to me as a disabled traveller. I appeared to be the only guest staying as the only other People around seemed to be the staff. I got a weak smile from each of them, but as I don't speak German, that was fine. The meal I ordered was a shrimp salad, which looked to be an enormous plate of salad, but turned out to be nearly all lettuce covered with a Remoulade Sauce. I also ordered a diet Coke which turned out to be one of the tiny mixer size bottles and was served with a wine glass - not the thirst quenching drink I was hoping for. However, this was not the hotel's fault, but mine for not checking first. The room was a good size, but there were no toiletries, apart from a Soap, no kettle or tea and coffee making facilities, and only a very low coffee table if I needed to use my Laptop. However, the adaptor I had would not fit the German plugs, and the Situation of the sockets was extremely inconvenient. It would have been a contortionist who could have plugged into the sockets by the bed, and the only other socket was beside the door into the room. Strange Placement! The saving grace was the free wi´fi, the code for which is very thoughtfully engraved onto a small metal disc on the door. Breakfast was excellent. Fruit Juice, coffee, a selection of cheeses, cold meats and then a perfectly cooked boiled egg.
