The hotel is situated on a quiet street near Kochbrunnen (the northern part of city centre). Take bus line 1 towards Neroberg or 8 if coming from the Hauptbahnhof (main railway station). When arriving to the hotel, you can immediately tell which is your building as it is really old-looking with façade made of red bricks. Our check-in went really smoothly and the receptionist was friendly. When walking along the corridors you might think that the hotel would need a bit of renovation. Fortunately the rooms seem to be in very good condition. Our double room was rather spacious, and so was the bathroom. The sound insulation is average – you can hear other tenants closing the door and flushing the toilet, but I’ve been in much worse hotels in this sense. The breakfast is very good and comprehensive. The breakfast room is not very big, but there is also a cosy nice inner court where you can sit down and have your eggs and bacons. All in all: not your average chain hotel, but definitely worth visiting.
