“No $ex please we are German!! Rudest front desk soldiers ever experienced”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014 via mobile

I understand now that Germans are conceived through immaculate conception.
We first experienced the rudest German front desk staff in our 20 years of travel.
Upon entering the hotel the three staff continued talking with one of the young girls texting on their mobiles.
There was no pleasantness, happiness or support which was quite strange when you consider the cost of this Hotel.
After booking in we were taken to a slot a little larger than a broom closet and our king size bed was actually two single beds pushed together with single quilts.
After a polite phone call and followups directly to the supervisor and a phone call from our travel agent it was then decided as we were not Germans and actually liked to cuddle up and sometimes perform horizontal folk dancing being a relatively young couple that they would accede to our request to be given a King Size bed "tomorrow".
The following day we were moved to a room with a king size bed (which we had booked and paid for) BUT it still had two single quilts.
Seriously what is the go with this Hotel? Do they cater for 80 year olds or what?
Additionally the Hotel has some of the most expensive meals within the area and there are better quality and economic meals available in the areas immediately surrounding the Hotel
We would never stay at this Hotel again, primarily based on the attitude of the staff and the fact that they are obviously not open to catering to young couples.

The hotel is very grand and our room was perfectly comfortable, if not very dated. However, I have stayed frequently in leading hotels of the world and have never encountered such difficult reception staff and rude concierage in particular. I was travelling with a friend for a local sport event and was met by constant rudeness every time I spoke to the reception staff (with the exception of one lovely lady who checked us out). Another issue was the constant smell of fish wafting up the stairs from the restuarant which was very offputting.

The spa is lovely and the staff in there could train the reception staff in good manners and great service. Floating in the lovely spa pool was a redeeming feature and nothing was too much trouble for the spa staff.

Such a shame that one member of staff can ruin the experience for a guest, I would send him to work in the spa and learn some manners. We had thought we were encoutering this as two females travelling together but my husband had exactly the same experience with the individual once he checked in and we also saw restaurant staff barking at guests.

Room Tip: Our room was very dated but the room my husband checked into was much more modern on the other wing...

I had stayed there for a meeting and I have to admit that the hotel is one of the few hotels left providing this old style service at its absolute best. Very smooth and efficient check in, rooms are small however excellent equipped and high end amenities.
Breakfast still one of the best with attentive service , room service always on time, location of this hotel a huge plus. My favorite choice for this city.

The hotel is beautiful and the service excellent. Our room was so luxurious and comfortable. We could open a large picture window that overlooked a large green surrounded by classical buildings. The pool was very nice. The buffet breakfast was just wonderful - worth the price. We would definitely return.

Hotel Nassauer Hof is a beautiful hotel in a central location in Wiesbaden. Our room on the 4th floor faced the Kurhaus casino and had a lovely view. Everything was within walking distance. Hotel staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Our room was well appointed with no detail overlooked! Will definitely stay at Hotel Nassauer Hof again!

This is a really great hotel over all. Certainly worthy if it's ranking. The aircon in the room worked perfectly, service was good, I enjoyed my stay. The young ladies in the Orangerie Terrace Restaurant were attentive and very kind. My only complaint is that the hair dryers in the rooms are useless. They are small little travel things - in a hotel of this standard, one would expect better quality hair dryers. And someone had left a tray if dirty dishes on a little table opposite my door. It was there for many hours, without anyone noticing and collecting it, even after I had pointed this out to reception staff. This is not something one would expect, when paying 5* prices.
However, I'd definitely recommend this hotel. It's lovely.

It is a pity for me and fortunately for this hotel but there is nothing negative to say. I practically never write about good things because everything is described in the advertising information about the hotel or restaurant. In this case it is difficult to find anything. Wi-fi is free of charge 30 minutes per day only. But this is a usual practice for high 5 star hotels. And I can not understand this. In any case this is really a high quality hotel.
