“Outstanding”
Reviewed 5 October 2012

I stayed here for more than 10 days and it was outstanding. The place is very comfortable, quiet and spotless.

Rooms - good sized and very easy to work in, you get a desk and desk chair as well as a comfortable chair to relax in.

Restaurant is very good and the menu is varied and offers both some traditional German fare as well as a contemporary interpretation of of a global menu. I particularly liked breakfast at the hotel restaurant

Location is near the HauptBanhof and an easy walk to the downtown areas

If you are a native English speaker you will find the staff is fluent in English

If you are looking for a wonderful hotel experience in Weisbaden, Germany, the hotel Dorint is for you. After looking at several places on the internet, we chose the Dorint. Arriving after a long flight from the East Coast, we were allowed to check in early. Shortly thereafter, 2 people brought us a bowl of fruit. Service was outstanding and the rooms incredibly comfortable. The shower was a little awkward, but hey, this is Germany, bathrooms in Europe are always a little different. We didn't eat at the restaurants but we did have wine every evening either indoors or out. Again, service was wonderful! The below ground garage was super convenient although a little pricey. Wireless available at a cost for various amounts of time, but gotta have wireless. Wherever I go in Europe I will seek out a Dorint Hotel!!!! The haupbahnhoff was only a 5 minute walk and the pedestrian zone was about a 10 minute walk. This was a wonderful experience!

Traveled with a big group (100+), check in was very smooth and straight forward. Spacious quiet rooms, good sleep quality. Excellent hotel restaurant with quality Italian food and steaks (compliments to kitchen and waiters!). Room service breakfast was also very good. Location is approximately a 15 minute walk from Kurhaus and the city center.

At the time of my visit, there was an accident with one of the elevators producing a potentially dangerous situation. An evacuation of the rooms ensued. Emergency services appeared quickly in place, apparently taking care of and examining/treating the guests and personnel who might have been exposed to the danger. The situation seemed to be dealt with within a few hours and we were allowed back into our rooms. Personally I felt at no time in danger, and I was not inconvenienced in the slightest by this situation. I was impressed by this.

I have staid at this hotel two times over the last two years and found it to be a great hotel on both occasions. The hotel is clean and the rooms are good size for Europe. The hotel staff is helpful and nice to deal with on both stays. The price is a but high compared to some other hotels in the area, but was worth the extra $. The breakfast was very good probably one of the better hotel breakfasts I have enjoyed in Europe. Hotel is a short walk from the city center which is great if you want to relax or just do some shopping. The hotel is about a block away from the convention center making it the perfect location if you plan on being at the convention center.

Thankfully, I decided to book at The Dorint Pallas. I read reviews from Tripadvisor and booking.com. The hotel staff is very friendly and even though I can speak some German, they are very helpful and speak English well. We had to book two rooms for our family of 5. The hotel put us in rooms across the hall from each other but we can close a door in the hallway so we can have adjoining rooms (sort of). I have never seen it done in the U.S. but it works and gave us more room for our luggage and strollers. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms are nicely appointed.

We walk to the closest banhof (trainstation) and shops to get groceries and eat. Cheaper than what the hotel charges for food. There is a great park across the street and the kids enjoy running there for exercise. The hotel does not have a pool but we don't miss it.

Although the Dorint people might not like to be reminded of this, this hotel used to be named the Von Steuben hotel and was built to house US military officers and senior US government people. But don’t let that discourage you, it was considered one of the best hotels in Germany then and it is even better today. I stayed there often in the 1960s and I just recently returned there with my grandchildren. As I say, the hotel is even better now than it was then being bright, airy, stylish and immaculately clean. The trees and other landscaping create an almost park like atmosphere in the reception and restaurant areas with the huge glass areas allowing the outside to come in. The breakfast buffet is absolutely top notch and competitive with anything world-wide. And the staff is outstanding being pleasant, attractive, courteous and efficient. Try it, you’ll like it.

Recently had the pleasure of staying at the Dorint in Wiesbaden and found the overall experience to be quite nice. The hotel lobby was spacious and the check-in process was very smooth. The rooms were of a nice size with plenty of room to move about the area. The bathroom was nicely appointed with an envigorating shower. The beds were quite comfortable and provided a good night's sleep.

The location of the hotel makes for an easy walk to the shopping area and many nice restaurants as well as parks.

The hotel restaurant provided for an exceptional breakfast and a good start to my day.

I would highly recommend this hotel!
