Booked evening meal with friends. Used Tastecard. they have changed it from six to two diners with 2 for 1 on food. Food ok. One friend thought the fishermans pie portion had been reduced in size from a previous visit. .Just about worth it with the discount for one meal and also one sweet written off because of a piece of plastic in the food. Poor atmosphere on a dreary night . Part of a group of local hotels/restaurants. Was disappointed with overall experience

Room Tip: Ask for one at the back. Front rooms are alongside the busy A6 road

Had a family meal here recently and the food was excellent as was the service. Booked a table as we had a pushchair and table provided had plenty of room. We have returned a couple of times since.
Price of the meal was good too

We chose to stop off at the New Holly on our way out yesterday, lovely decorated pub with an attractive outside, if it had been a bit warmer when we arrived we would have probably sat outside.

My fiance had a Vegetarian main course which was really tasty and I had the Slow Roasted Beef dinner with the largest yorkshire pudding I've ever seen.

The food and atmosphere was excellent and we will definitely be back

I recently visited here with family for a relaxed Sunday lunch. Having seen from other reviews that the landlord was happy for guests to ask for slight variations to the menu, it was slightly disappointing that two of us ordered the salmon with sauce on the side and no butter on the potatoes but we both recieved buttered potatoes and mine came with the sauce on the meal and the other with no sauce initially. That said the waitress did change our order in terms of the sauce but not the potatoes. However the food was delucious and the roast dinners were thoroughly enjoyed by 3 of the party. We were advised that the spring menu was just being finalised so I would like to go back and check it out. The service was very good and efficient too. Definitely worth a visit.

Reserved a table for myself, wife and 10 month old daughter for lunch. They has a nice selection of food to cater for all tastes. We went on a Sundya so they had a Sunday lunch menu too, we both chose off the Sunday lunch menu. Service was good and friendly, food was very tasty. Too much in way of potatoes with the roast luch which included, mash, new and roasts, but thats just me, perhaps a bit more veg instead, but overall very good, would recommend and we will return

Thanks for the kind words about your visit! I am really glad that you enjoyed everything and look forward to seeing you again soon.

We pride ourselves on all our food but think our roast dinners are especially good! We appreciate the comments about potatoes and would be more than happy in future to swap one type out for veg for you if it suits your tastes more. Thanks again!
