I recently stayed at this hotel for 5 nights on a business trip. The single room was the smallest room I've been so far. You can hardly move around the room without bumping into the furniture. The mattress is certainly made for kids not adults (see uploaded pictures), and it sinks in the middle. The bathroom shower is so tiny that you want to get out of there as soon as possible. The size of the bathtub is less 3 feet by 3 feet, and again it seems to be designed for little kids. I weigh less than 165 pounds, and I really had difficulty getting into that minuscule bathtub (see uploaded pictures). The Internet connection (Wi-Fi) was fine, but I find it annoying that you've to ask the front desk staff for the username/password every single day. By the way, there is no air conditioning in the rooms. So I wonder how it would feel in the room during the summer months of July and August.

On the positive side, the hotel is located in the heart of Hannover. Almost all city attractions are at walking distance from the hotel, including the zoo and the gardens. The train Central Station is only a block away from the hotel (you can actually see it from the main entrance of the hotel). If you're arriving to Hannover by plane, it's definitely convenient to take the train from Hannover's airport and get off at the Central Station (20 minutes' trip). Then, just walk to the hotel from the Central Station (a couple of minutes walk). Also, the hotel is a couple of blocks away from the city's shopping district. The front desk personnel were friendly and courteous.

I stay in this hotel for 2 nights for a business trip. My room on the 2nd floor is terrible. Both nights I was waken up by some constant sound of a pumping machine or a lift at 5 am. It's not possible for one who needs a gd sleep after long days of meeting. The room also smells stale with smoke. Small. Lobby looks great though. But it is a cheat when u see the rooms. Avoid this hotel or make sure u get the right kind of rooms.

I booked a single room for one night, and I'm glad it was for one night only. Mind you, there was nothing wrong with my room, except that it was so very tiny. Yet it contained all the amenities you would find in bigger rooms. Whoever designed my room can give themselves a clap on the back for not wasting one inch of space. The room was freshly renovated and it was spotless. The bed was comfortable, the central heating worked, and there was plenty of lighting. The bathroom featured a pre-fabricated shower in which you wouldn't have been able to fall over. Like my room it was spotless. If travelling solo and it is your intention to only sleep in your room you can probably put up with its size, if not, book a double or look elsewhere. But keep in mind that location-wise Loccumer Hof is hard to beat if you are looking for an affordable place in walking distance to the railway station (with a fast train to the airport), the city centre, opera house etc. and with easy access to such attractions as Maschsee, Herrenhausen and Eilenriede. The hotel's location also means that there are plenty of places to have breakfast, lunch and dinner at very reasonable prices. And it's next to a police station, so you can feel reasonably safe in an area that used to have an image problem when I lived in Hannover many years ago. I'd certainly stay at Loccumer Hof again, just not in a single room.

Stayed here for 5 nights during the recent Hannover Messe exhibition.

The hotel is less than 1km from the Hannover Haupbahnhof (train station), so easily walking distance and very convenient for exhibition goers, because you can go directly to Messe via the U-Bahn or S-Bahn.

Double room was more than adequate, modernly furnished, and Kurt's bar was very nice with great service and good quality food.

Big negative was the internet, both wi-fi and connected internet are included with the room price, but the speeds are atrocious .. many times it would take several minutes to load a single web page, with the speed being well below normal dialup speed. Needless to say, trying to check business emails and communicate with colleages overseas was an absolutely impossibility.

Being a business hotel, I feel that the internet speed is important, no real complaints other than the internet speed, which should seriously be looked at by management.

When you walk into this hotel you think it's going to be great! The lobby and restaurant are modern, the staff is friendly and the restaurant food was excellent. But the single room I had was very 60s (as another guest commented) - old unhygienic carpet, small bed with a mattress that felt very old, old and somewhat dingy bathroom and the room furniture was quite worn out.
The breakfast was not included, seems silly! But it met my needs perfectly with fresh, healthy food. The hot stuff looked a bit sad.
It was good there was free wifi, but frustrating that it constantly went down so I had to re-connect and that you had to get a new username and password every day.
Location near the train station was good as we were at the Hannover Messe every day.
Due to the contrasts at this hotel (great entrance, bad room), it gets a middel-of-the-road rating from me.

Room Tip: Get a renovated room!

I like this hotel because of the good location. Close to the main train station and 10 minutes walking to the main streets of Hannover. The zen concept in the bar and reception is one of the best I have ever seen. The rooms do not quite compell with the general ambiance though. Double rooms are nice, spacious with a comfortable bed and a big enough bathroom. However the single rooms are really tiny and maybe a little ovepriced. The staff is very nice and friendly. I will definetely stay again and again at this hotel. ( in a double room definetely)

I had a mixed experience with this hotel; I found the entry area pleasant and modern, and the front desk staff was very friendly and efficient. My room - a single room - however, was not very nice at all. Good points; it was clean, the bathroom was small but fine, and the internet connection functioned well. Bad points: depressing decor, terrible mattress (and I don't even mind that single bed here really means single - not queen or anything), and at some point, out of a blue, a piece of the ceiling lamp fells down.
So, please Loccumer Hof, please renovate also your single rooms - from the website it looks like you have done a good job in your other rooms already.
