The Ghotel in Hannover is set in quiet, leafy suburban Hannover. Plenty of parking and free WiFi. The room was very good, albeit a little small, but then I was only paying for a single, and it was big enough.

Hannover town center is a five minute drive away. You really would need to have a car to find this hotel convenient. Backpackers would find it a little remote for their purposes.

Only downside was the receptionist - when I arrived, she was processing some paper-work and insisted on finishing it before serving me. I waited patiently and humbly, and just when it was becoming absurd she finished her admin and served me. She was pleasant enough when she did finally serve me. Maybe its a cultural thing, but this would be considered rude by many people.

I do not do much international travel so the ‘inconveniences’ I experienced may be more of a cultural issue. The bedroom was small as well as the bathroom. No amenities such as shampoo, wash cloth or bed sheets and having to pay daily for slow internet were all bothersome. Also the temperature control of the shower was very aggravating, either too hot or too cold.

Front desk had a problem processing my bill with my credit card for extra charges but was able to do so after much effort. My company arranged payment for the room during the fair so I do not know what room cost was. Food in the restaurant was at a fair price.

The rooms and hallways were clean though dated. When I arrived the staff was very friendly but that may have been because I arrived before the mass of people for the fair showed up. Once all the other guests arrived the staff seemed rushed an unfriendly.

The hotel is located away from the city center and there is not a lot to do close by but that can be good if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of a busy city. There are some nice places to walk around for exercise since there is no fitness facility available. The restaurant is sufficient for short stays, decent pricing and a good selection of food. However by the third morning the breakfast became boring seeing the same food every day.

Overall it was a ‘nice’ stay. But other than the beer I find American hotels to be much more pleasant and accommodating.

Dear Jerry,
many thanks for rating your stay at GHOTEL hotel & living Hannover. We are sorry that you experienced inconveniences while you were staying with us. Every room is equipped with a shampoo/shower gel dispenser, which is located in the shower. We apologize if this dispenser was not filled in your case and hope that you told our staff about it so that they could refill it. Concerning the bed sheets, we can hardly imagine that the housekeeping personnel completeley forgot about this in your room. It would be helpful if you could get in touch with us in regard of this matter, so that we can comprehend what excatly happened. Please send an e-mail to marketing(at)ghotel.de. Thank you for your cooperation.
From June on, free WiFi will be included in all room rates, so no extra-costs will apply when you use the internet in your room. In the lobby and the superior rooms, you can already surf for free.
We are happy that you liked the quiet location of our hotel. Should you visit us again and feel like going to the city centre, we recommend taking the train which leaves at the station „Kleefeld Bahnhof“. The station can be reached within a few minutes by bus. From there, you will get directly to the city centre.
We would be delighted if you chose to stay at one of our hotels again, should you visit Germany another time.
Kind regards,
your team from GHOTEL hotel & living

The GHOTEL is a hotel catering mainly for conference guests and that's what you notice first, it's not only enormous but also functional. The single rooms are extremely small, the doors grey and the bathrooms as well - functional. We didn't feel home there and we doubt anyone will - you get what you pay for, and that's a place to sleep and eat.

Although they provide a pretty good breakfast, the service isn't very friendly and when you ask for a Cappuccino you'll get something you might want to pour away. The location is a bit off and not as near to the university hospital as it seems and rather far away from public transport despite a bus-stop some 200m away with no connection to the city centre.

One must admid that they have a sauna, but as said before - the rooms aren't decorated to make you feel comfy but to sweat and go. Strange thing, why we wouldn't choose it again.

Dear Traveller,
thank you for giving us a feedback about your stay at GHOTEL hotel & living Hannover. We are sorry that the interior design of our hotel didn’t meet your taste and that the location wasn’t as you expected it to be. The university hospital is located 1,7 km from the hotel, which is a drive of approximately five minutes, so it is convenient to go there by cab if you are not travelling by car. In order to reach the city centre, you can take the bus you already mentioned or walk to the station „Kleefeld Bahnhof“, where a train leaves which will take you to the city centre within a few minutes.
We would be happy if you chose to stay at one of our hotels again!
Kind regards,
your team from GHOTEL hotel & living

Please be aware that Hannover has some big Fairs. Hotels seems to use this as a reason to increase the price level depending on how big the fair is. Hence some hotel have rates between 90 tot 500 euro for the same room depending on Exhibition. This Hotel is no exception and also overcharges ! That said I stayed in the Hotel last year visiting a fair, also this year but this year the hotel was not even fully booked but they still charged rates as if they were fully booked. This is not a good policy.

Problem during fairs is that there are many visitors comming at once. Front desk has 2 people which at some peak hours is just not enough.

Rooms a clean, basic but ok for a 3 star Hotel.
Restaurant is ok, not special, not overcharged just OK. Since there are not reastaurants in Walking distance it's easy to use the one in the Hotel.

They have a Sauna, please let them turn it on 30-45 minutes before you visit it.

Staff at Front Desk was Helpfull also in the Restaurant.

One thing that I don't like is paid internet. You have to pay euro 6,5 for 1 day or 30 minutes free at the lobby. I used lobby and speed was slow, very slow, Maybe because there were more visitors during the fair ? For a Hotel that overcharges during fairs, yet another 6,50 euro for slow internet is a bit of a rip-off. 4/5 Star hotel are doing this as a standard to get more money from a business traveler, but I expect free internet in a 3 star and when paying I should get some speed.

Overal the Hotel is close to the fair, it's OK nothing more nothing less.

Hotel was a bit hard to find, but our GPS led the way. Parking is a bit away from hotel, and there are signs to lock your car, secure your valuables, due to thieves. Hotel staff was helpful. Room was clean and beds comfortable. A bit of an adventure to get downtown, as you had to take a bus to the train station and then take the train downtown. We were told the trains run until 2 am. On the way back, we took the train out and simply walked to the hotel which was about 10 blocks away. Decent hotel for an overnight. A bit inconvenient for a long term stay unless you plan to do the driving.

This is an unusual hotel which in the evening looked quite small from the outside, but in fact it is huge. finding your room for the first time was not easy especially with the automatic lights.

The rooms are not huge but certainly are very clean (as was the whole hotel) and comfortable.

The restaurant was large and food was ok (although breakfast was very nice), however the service was TERRIBLE. i have never met a waiter try so hard to not seat us and then at the end roll his eyes when we asked to pay. the guy didnt deserve to be in work and was so bad it really tainted my memory of this hotel.

The hotel is a former "german postal service" building, located next to a park area and with lots of free parking in front. I stayed there for two nights. Technically the hotel is to be rated ok, you can enjoy tranquility, the rooms are ok as well. "Ok", not less, not more. There is a huge lack of charm all over. It is a 3 star hotel like 1 Million others. Finding your room can be a bit confusing, the hotel is "rambling". The variety at breakfast was good, the quality could be lot better. In summer you can sit outside on the terrace to have dinner or breakfast. My experience with the staff was good, everybody was friendly and helpful. I would go back to this hotel, but only if I really need to. In general Hanover offers a lot better + charming + more unique places to stay. Sometimes I had more or less the feeling of being in a youth hostel.
