“A peacful modern luxury oasis”
Reviewed 10 September 2012

We go here every summer just for relaxing, gym, eating great food and have a peace of mind. This hotel has a modern luxurious design, but it`s the great and friendly staff that makes it stand out. Its Germany in a nutshell; perfect service delivered fast and friendly. We stay in the rooms facing the river and the factory power station, with a view to the floating swimming pool and the evening summer show. Breakfast is superb; same is the dining both in the Grill and the bar, where Florence and her staff takes great care of you. Aqua was fully booked; you will probably have to reserve a couple of weeks in advance.

You dont have to be interested in Autostatd to stay here.

WiFi was slow with lots of break-downs using iPad/iPhone, staff was aware of the problem but did not know when/if it would be fixed. My son had un-interrupted high WiFi speed on his PC.

It's rare to find a hotel that achieves beyond expectations, but the Wolfsburg Ritz-Carlton is one of them - except if you like a cozy, homey, cluttered with decorative knick-knacks and sprawling sofas, kind of hotel, in which case this is not the place for you. Instead, it provides classic German efficiency, streamlined and spotless, without sentimentality or false jollity but with very good service by young interns under careful management. The hotel building seems bland, almost industrial, but it is in the ultimate industrial environment - the home of Volkswagen where it's still possible to come and collect your pre-ordered car direct from the factory. There is a large, beautifully manicured park, known as the Autostadt, where modernist pavilions of different car brands are displayed amidst spectacular landscaping. Not a leaf is allowed to fall without being collected, flower gardens are spotlit at night under insectproof netting so no bug can get near the blossoms, lakes of lilypads where ducks are so tame you can touch them - the ducks know that no harm can come to them in this extraordinary paradise. The hotel has a great gym and an almost Olympic-length pool (40 meters) built out on a pontoon into the lake that abuts the power station. One half of the original power station is now a famous concert hall, and every year on the lake, Volkswagen hosts a spectacular son et lumière display, that this year has an Italian theme. Fire and fountains erupt from the lake every night for four weeks, with the shows changing weekly - and it's totally free !! Around ten thousand visitors per night come to watch the display, and if you're staying at the Ritz-Carlton you can watch it from your terrace. The hotel service is outstanding, the breakfast is fabulous, the quality and comfort of the rooms are very close to perfection, so surely there must be something missing ? In fact there is. In our room there were no tea or coffee-making facilities and the internet connection was very, very slow. However, of course the Ritz-Carlton already had technicians on the job, trying to work out why their servers had slowed to such an extent. It's the only hotel I've ever been where two matching brand-new Mercedes AMG 6.3 liter convertibles were delivered to the waiting owners, followed by our own more humble rental car, all with the same level of service and smiles from the valet staff - who refused a tip politely but firmly. This is a hotel that you'd probably never visit if you hadn't come to pick up a new car, or to watch the show because it's a two to three hour drive from Berlin - but if you're looking for somewhere straight out of the pages of the Architectural Digest, this is the place.

Room Tip: Ask for lake view room.

The location of the RC couldn't be more spectacular. Located inside the Autostadt the guest can take a relaxed walk after dinner between the pavillions and showcased Porsches at night. Amazing!

The service is worldclass as always.

The room are nice but lack of amenities wie know from Asia. But the GM told us that Espressomaker and a kettle for tea will be installed soon.

We just returned from a short trip to The Ritz-Carlton Wolfsburg. It was our second stay there and is nothing negative we can say about this hotel. It is as perfect as the entire Autostadt. It is a great place for a weekend trip and to relax from your daily live. The reception staff is extremely helpful, the outside pool superb, the Grill restaurant very cosy with yummy food and the rooms and amenities second to none.
Making a long story short - we would go back in a blink of an eye and would recommend it to everyone who either wants to visit the Autostadt or just wants a little hideaway.

The Ritz Carlton name immediately raises your expectations to a very high level, but this hotel in Wolfsburg delivers. Large, comfortable and well equipped rooms, great service everywhere, a very cosy lounge bar and a spectacular outdoor swimming pool were some of the things we appreciated. The breakfast was also outstanding. The hotel is right in the middle of the Volkswagen Autostadt, and free entrance is included in the stay. It is also well worth a visit, especially the museum, if like cars at all.

This is a fantastic hotel surrounded by Autostadt and all things Volkswagen. The service was outstanding and the rooms some of the best I have stayed in anywhere in the world. It's just a short walk to Autostadt (a few minutes) and the room key allows you free access to all the pavilions. The town of Wolfsburg is about another 10-15 minutes walk crossing the railway tracks on a bridge. Only ate at the hotel at breakfast (good buffet but not great) but there are a number of reasonable places to eat in Autostadt - some of them staying open in the evening. The pool is marvellous if somewhat strange - on a pontoon floating in a lake surrounded by the Volkswagen factory (the water is heated).

What a fantastic small sized hotel, that offers the best hotel swimming pool I have ever encountered (I am a very frequent traveler).

Located on the lake, it's a welcoming and very nicely decorated. The fireplace in the lobby tempts every guest to spend some time in the lobby and chat with other hotel guests. The hotel's formal restaurant cooks up a mean duck dish. The rooms are a little on the smaller side, but are simply delightful.
