Finally we had a chance to visit Stralsunder in Rostock, the home town of my wife. She had told me lots about it and I was curious especially about their famous Eisbein (An off the bone cooked large piece of pork), with which I had a bad experience 2 years ago in Berlin...(too fatty, too small, and virtually tasteless)
We went this week with our family and some friends (7 people in total) and the experience was memorable. Especially for my wife who had not been there for 20 years...
The ambiance was lovely, the decorations authentic and in line with the presented food, a beautiful rustic covered courtyard.
We ate indoors and the food was lovely. My Eisbein was cooked to perfection and the accompanying sauerkraut just did the trick.
Another beautiful discovery in Rostock for us and we will be back very soon I am sure.
