Lovely lobby, good breakfast, quiet rooms and excellent mattresses. A car is needed as town centre is a 20 min walk away if you are looking for a place to eat.
Parking costs extra however there are free spaces in the street.
I would stay here again.

very pleasant experience living there. Very clean. Wonderful bathroom with crystal clear shower . Breakfast with everything you need. Exceptional wafles . Helpful and friendly personel. I would prefer it if it were a bit closer to the center although it is not far.

Room Tip: view to main road and may be upper floor

Stayed for 1 night, room was clean, bed was comfy. Check in was fast, 5 minutes from entering the hotel to being in the room. Room has a bed, tv, kettle with coffee and tea. Safe in the bedside cabinet. Closet has coat hangers, hair dryer and ironboard and iron. Bathroom had a shower, with shampoo, conditioner and body soap. Complementary hot breakfast included sausage, bacon, egg, beans, hash browns and a waffle maker. Make your own coffee or tea machine, cold meats, cheeses, cereal, fruit and pastries. A better breakfast than at some hotels where they charge you.

New hotel, opened in July 2017. The hotel is located on the Merowingerstraße, the Northeast part of the heavy traffic & 4-lane ring road at 2 km of the Aachen city centre to which there is an easy access with city buses. You can even walk to downtown.
Shopping centres & restaurants are also available nearby the hotel.

The Hampton hotel is equipped with a large Reception Desk lobby with the breakfast room. Lifts (4 floors) are also very large. There are a few outdoor parking spots just at the hotel entrance, but the main underground garage, located in the basement –additional cost is 8 € per night-is very large & fully equipped with video surveillance.
However it is important to emphasize that the access to the garage is somewhat narrow and not very convenient for large motorcars.

Twin bedrooms are medium-sized and fitted as follow:
Carpet floor. 2 large single beds of 130 cm wide, but without undersheets. Bed sheets are directly in contact with the mattress. Large satellite TV screen with international channels, safe, many wall sockets, a kettle but neither microwave oven nor fridge. At the end of the bedroom, there is an office area with small table & one armchair.

The bedroom entrance has a common door with the bathroom: When the cupboard door is open, the bathroom sliding door is shut. When the sliding bathroom door is open, the cupboard door is shut.

The sole narrow bedroom window does not open in full, you can only half-open it.
This window is very small compared to the wall pan and the room gets dark as soon as there is no sun.
The bathroom is medium in size: The shower cubicle is large but the shower screen is only half the length of the cabin, and the bathroom floor easily gets flooded.
The shower water pressure is satisfactory but nothing more. There are no hooks for hanging towels in the bathroom.
The WC is in the bathroom and there is not much room to lay down belongings.

Main disadvantage of this brand new hotel is the STAFF

Reception staff is very young with lack of experience and does not seem to be trained enough by the hotel management.
A receptionist (we learned the next day that she was coming from the Netherlands) told us that we had to dial the German international code (49) to make a call from the hotel to a local number in Aachen. Also, we were not able to call from the room since the hotel switchboard was under maintenance, but she did not even know it!, She did said it was possible to make a call. She also provided us with a wrong direction to walk to the Aachen Carolus Thermes.

The housekeeping staff is different every day and speaks neither (or very few) German nor English. One day the housekeeping staff rushed in the room before 9am without knocking at the door. The next day, when we went back to our room after 3pm, the bedrooms was still uncleaned, and the housekeeping staff could not be found on the different floors.
Upon check-in, we had to wait until 5pm –because the housekeeping staff was working in another hotel! The only room ready was a connecting room that we did not accept. Rooms are not cleaned properly: Body wash & shampoo dispensers remain empty, there is often a lack of towels & complimentary tea and coffee samples are not replaced. The rooms are cleaned very late in the afternoon

The All you can eat Breakfast quality was however satsfactory..

The hotel was great for the price. It has a cosy lobby/bar area where you can have snacks 24/7 (very much appreciated)! The hotel is brand new, confortable with a modern design. Breakfast was tasty, a great variation of products with some gluten/lactose free alternatives. We loved the fresh waffle! Thanks to the staff at the reception/bar, especially Sarah at the bar, who were always smiling and very helpful!
