Review of Hotel Lousberg

We stayed here on the way home to the UK from a holiday in Bavaria. The hotel is conveniently situated for getting in and out of Aachen and for visiting the shopping centre, a ten minute walk away. The hotel was clean and tidy and the bedroom was spotless but quite small really. The bathroom was also clean but surprisingly had shower curtains, which were a bit scruffy, and not a shower screen. The breakfast the following morning was superb with a wonderful choice of food and very, very, tasty freshly squeezed orange juice. The only downside was the price of 120 euros. The day before we got there it was 90 euros. This was the dearest hotel we stayed in throughout our holiday in Germany. Overall it was a very good hotel but a bit overpriced.

We stayed there 6 weeks ago and was surprised to pay 30 euros more this time. A bit overpriced we felt. However, the hotel is very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very well presented and the selection is excellent. We had a front bedroom but found it rather noisy as the cars were fairly nonstop all night. The location of the hotel is good, a short walk to the centre.

Room tip: Have a room at the back as traffic is almost nonstop.

+ location (short-walking distance to the center, shopping streets and thermes)
garage is available,
very-very varied and tasty breakfast,
big family apartment available for reasonable price,
nice location for traveling around

- can't find any in my memories.... aahh, may be the size of the double room. but you are not spending all the day here.

We recently stayed here on a three night trip to Aachen and cant fault this hotel, The staff were so professional and nothing seemed too much trouble. The room was a nice size and spotlessly clean. It had a well priced mini bar and just about everything else you could ask for. The breakfast had a vast array of choices clearly freshly made and the juice machine was the best I have ever tasted (sorry if I drank it all :) The night before we checked out we met who I presumed was the owner who was very pleasant. We advised him we were leaving early on the Sunday morning and he got the staff to put breakfast on earlier than normal and allowed us to have a take away breakfast for a friend who had booked a lesser hotel.
Next time I am in Aachen I would definiatly stay there again, Thanks for everything.

The room is very small for double room, the single room more like back packers suit :p but the location is very good, just 5 minute walk to the dome of Aachen. The staff is good , some confusion in the morning for breakfast because we forget to order breakfast but all fine because the owner let us to have our break fast for free :) yes we got free break fast because they've over booked ! They have International breakfast selection from cheese, bread, fruit, muesli and ham. the Orange fresh press machine was our favorite :) its so fresh to drink fresh orange in the heat of summer in Aachen. The wifi is ok but some confusion in the login area because they have 4 column of password and user name ? we don't understand how they can design login pages with so much confusion. After all is nice to stay in small city with small room :)

Room tip: just booked double room if you are Claustrophobic people :)

Me and a colleague stayed at Lousberg hotel in July during a business trip and got two single rooms. The hotel was at an ideal location near the city center and close enough (by taxi) to the RWTH campus where we headed every day.

The rooms were very small, but cosy and completely renovated and the bathrooms were excellent. Although my room was facing a busy street and the hotel renovation was in progress, it was really quiet. In addition, even though the WiFi was not free, it was really cheap and I had good signal on the top floor.

Finally, the breakfast buffet had a big variety, the coffee was great and the staff really kind and helpful.

Overall, although our stay there was great and the hotel is really good for business travelers, the next time I would probably try another hotel, due to the small room size.
