We booked several weks before but on arriving we were told that a computer problem meant that there was no room available and that we would have to transfer to the other IBIS for one night and move to this hotel for the second night!. We asked if everyone had booked in, no they hadn't, so we said in that case someone arriving later could have the pleasure of moving. After a short discussion during which we made it plain that we were not moving we were allocated a room - we assume that because we were English we would be the easy ones to move.. (Having worked in hotel reception I knew that this 'computer problem' was the oldest dodge in the book for overbooking - the other one is a 'burst pipe')
The rooms are clean, the rest of the service and food was good and when we asked to change room the following day it was arranged and done withinin the hour. The staff, other than the first one we met and presumably she was 'under orders', were very pleasant and helpful.
We have stayed in several Accor hotels over the years - IBIS, Mercure and Novotel - and this was the first problem that we have encountered; we will stay with the chain in future.
Other than the check-in problem the stay was fine

From the Ibis you expect the simple things, a clean room, friendly staff and not much more. This hotel was pretty much that. It was clean, comfortable and the staff at reception were friendly.

My only gripe with the hotel was it claimed there was parking onsite. We arrived early afternoon and parked our car and checked in (paying the additional parking charge). We then went out for the afternoon. When we arrived back at around 6:30pm we found the car park was full and we were told we would have to park on the street. The street was paid parking, but luckily it's free after 7pm until 9am Sunday morning. So we parked on the road, and left early. That is the only problem I had with the hotel.

It was quiet, as it's set back off the road and there are trees between the main road and the little road to absorb some of the noise. It is also a short walk (10 mins) into the centre of Aachen, so a pretty good location.

This hotel is clean with a nice staff. No frills EXCEPT they have a restaurant AND 24 hour snack service. You can get a cheese platter anytime. They charge 15 euros for the breakfast buffet but, it is the BEST we've had throughout Europe.

A good, clean, no frills kind of place. Basic rooms (no mini bar, small shower) but super clean. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. Internet access is free in the lobby, but only 3 Euros for 24 hours in the rooms. Easy walk to Bahnhof and central city.
