“Modern and functional”
Reviewed 9 February 2014 via mobile

I regularly stay here for business, primarily for location and the fact that it is modern (opened just over a year ago). Facilities are reasonable, but nothing special. Not a place to eat in the evening - no ambience and plenty of good restaurants to choose from nearby. Very handy for the station, but ask for a room on the opposite side from the station unless you are a train-spotter.

Generally ok, but the rooms are basic and the staff at reception aren't exactly friendly which would be fine if the hotel's price reflected its budget furnishings and staffing levels.

I was very unhappy to discover that the restaurant was closed for the whole of the Christmas & New Year period - except for breakfast. Additionally, on 31 Dec we tried to buy a drink in the bar at 18.30 and were told that even that wasn't possible. If I had known when I booked that there were no evening meals/snacks available on 31 Dec, I would not have made the reservation. Most of the city's restaurants and cafes are closed and I had assumed that we would be able to get something in our hotel. The lack of bar and restaurant facilities should have been clearly advertised at the time of booking.

All in all this really isn't worth the money and I definitely wouldn't stay here again.

I have stayed in this hotel for 3 nights.Room was to the street side ,so I don't have problem with sounds from train station.Rooms were modern ,clean.Everythink for me was good in his hotel ,breakfast also.Only was strange for me ,thar Wi-Fi for 24 hours cost about 14 Eur.It.s not normal.

Room Tip: For example rooms 239,238,246 and 138 are to street side :)

We arrived at the hotel after a long days travel and immediately went for dinner. Sadly there were not enough staff on duty to serve our party of 40+, we were expected. The hotel is quite new and has all the usual facilities you would expect in a business type hotel. The hotel is almost part of the railway station, with some rooms overlooking the platform. Keeping the window open at night is probably not an option due to the noise from the busy station (there is air-conditioning). The hotel is also on the wrong side of the station from the main part of the town. Ideal for a short or business stay. Dinner and breakfast were both quite acceptable, but not exceptional.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms overlooking the station.

Arrived here by train so the perfect location, as long as you don't want to have the window open at night! Unfortunately the air-conditioning is quite noisy as well but the lesser of two evils. There were 41 in our party so you might have expected them to be ready when we arrived, but as there was only one person on reception our guide distributed the keys herself. Dinner looked disgusting, the vegetables had been covered with cheese to try and make them look better so I just had the chicken in cream sauce with rice. Breakfast was a little better with a good selection of food but poor service.

The rooms are very bare and functional but the beds are comfortable and the bathroom is spacious with a lovely shower. No toiletries and quite small, thin towels.

Overall it was ok for one night but I wouldn't want to stay any longer.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing the railway if you like fresh air!

Very pleased with the hotel itself. However it is literally the wrong side of the tracks.
Staff were pleasant and welcoming. Restaurant was empty so ate in town. The room (124) was on the first floor almost on-top of platform 1! With the window closed I didn't notice any noise. With it open it was noisey. Overall (in my opinion) not a problem. That said. It is handy for the train :-). And also for the buses - I got a free bus pass for my stay (from reception) and they looked up bus routes for me.
Any major station attracts undesirables and Bonn station is not exception. But at no point did I feel threatened. But be aware that you will need to pass them to get to the hotel. Especially later in the evening - again, I say they wee not threatening.
Overall very happy and would stay again.
