A friend of mine booked this hotel, which I'm so glad she did as it's hard to imagine I could have found anything better or more suitable. The location is perfect, far enough away to be quiet and tranquil, but local enough so that most things you want to see are no more than a 10-15 min walk away.

The only reason I didn't give it five stars are the very dated and intermittent Wi-Fi and the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms, but as you get free complementary hot drinks in reception, this really is no great hardship.

The rooms and hotel itself are stunning, with old ornate beautiful furniture and features that lead you to think you're staying somewhere far more expensive and grander than you have actually paid for. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful and all of the staff were extremely helpful, kind and polite. It was one of our groups birthday whilst there and I asked one of the waitresses to present him with the cake and beer we got him, she was only to keen to oblige and brought it out on a platter, complete with a candle.

The shower was hot and powerful and it had a well stocked up mini bar in every room. It really did make our weekend trip complete and if I were to return to Cologne, this would be the only hotel I'd consider stopping in.

Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Nice old-style hotel in good location. Next to green and long public park-square with old trees and fountains. With city public garage under the park :). Very well located with walking distance to old town, cathedral market and other important points for tourists. Very good located for fairs participants at Kolnmesse if travelling by car.
At hotel, in rooms and public area Y can find authentic furnitures and artefacts dated XIX and early XX century. Bed, wardrobe, chairs, table, wall lamps - everything in room has own long story :). It can be non-approvable for people who likes modern interiors and equipment. Wardrobe creak, bed crunch :) - acceptable if Y like old-style rooms :).
Modern bathroom with shower was surprisingly big and comfy.
Breakfast buffet? Middling and forgettable. Underwhelm even like for 3* hotel. Staff - middling too. Not to nice and smiling rather uninterested and indifferent. Wi-fi? Works slowly but works.

Room Tip: In warm months (summer time) beware 5th floor from backyard side. It is the South side so Y have har...

Stayed in this hotel in transition to another one (the Lindner) which was fully booked on my arrival day.
The Antik is very well located, walking distance from all main attraction.
Clean and well run. Great breakfast buffet!
Only complaints: rooms are tiny....I was unlucky to get probably with tiniest single room with a baby! I got charged for the baby cot (where this is usually free in hotels). Also, I don't know if it is German's welcoming customs or maybe the fact that they are not used to see black faces but reception was rather cold ( I actually had to ask to get help with luggage knowing that I was with an infant, where I come from, this is actually basic courtesy)! Thank God, the lady I got a the reception on my check out day was a lot more friendlier!
All in all, I do recommend recommend though but stay away from the tiny single room if not alone :)!

We stayed in the Wedding Suite (Room 26) and tremendously enjoyed the stay. The decor was authentic without being 'junky' and the room opened to a quiet inlet with no street noise whatsoever. The bed we great and the room was quite clean, even though you could tell the hotel had seen a few guests over the years.

We plan our trips with access to public transport (in this case, the UBahn) and were pleased to find the stop only to be about 100 meters from the hotel. The local parking garage was also conveniently accessible from the same point, although I'd have liked to have seen the 15-Euro a day cost included in the hotel price.

Breakfast was good but not over the top. The WMF silver and good china matched the decor, and the staff was friendly and prompt without being bothersome. The assortment of meats/cheeses was a pretty standard fare - but definitely not worth 10 Euro a person.

Overall this was better than the standard, hotel 'in-a-box' experience one gets by going to a larger chain. The staff was courteous and pleasant, but not gracious... without stereotyping, I'd say they were efficient.

Room Tip: Call directly instead of going through a travel service ... we were able to get a premier suite with...

Nice enough old-style hotel, friendly and helpful staff, ok location (not too far from train station, although further than indicated), clean and tidy, great for a short stay holiday.
BIG BIG BIG disappointment is hotel's hotspot internet connection. Do not place a value on this free service - it has none! Better to arrange alternative internet connection to eliminate the frustration of waiting for any kind of download. If needed for business, definitely go elsewhere!
Otherwise a pleasant place to stay.

We arrived late on a friday to be greeted by a very nice receptionist. She gave us useful information and the key yo our room.
It was not the most stunning one, I'm afraid. I was hoping to get one of the really nice ones, but is was actually very nice! Loved the decor and the bathroom was excellent. I'm always worried about how bathrooms would be like.

Breakfast was way much better than we expected. And its served till 11am on the weekends!!

Great location, if you fancy a quiet good night sleep as its' not in the middle of the buzz. Only a short 10 min walk to the cathedral and the old town.

I will be more than happy to go back to this hotel.

Room Tip: Room 12 was facing the street, but you can't even hear the car. Super quiet!
