“great water park”

I have been here a number of times on school trips with large numbers of kids. They all rave about the slides and there is a good selection. Each time we go, there is a new slide! There are tame rides, medium and quite scary ones. There is a lazy river and a couple of outdoor areas for swimming and sunbathing. We always try to hide away from the kids for about five minutes in the heated (think a long soak in your own bath) pool in a grotto near the slides, but never succeed. The changing rooms are huge and the showers nice...although a few more toilets would go down well. With the large glass dome, it is always going to be hot inside, so non swimmers beware! the food and drink are as you would expect in a facility targeted at the young. A major plus is that the opening hours are long. Advice for groups arriving by coach...our drivers always have difficulty getting there and the car park is always full. Approach from the west on Merianstrasse, as you go under the footbridge with Aqualand in sight, you will see the entance to a large car park. We always park there with no problems and use the footbridge to enter the park.

This is an indoor waterpark in Cologne, Germany. It is medium size and all enclosed under a glass dome like most of them there. Space is a premium and mostly filled with various tube rides and body rides. We were staying in Aachen, so it is about an hour from there and we wanted something different than the usual tourist sightseeing things, which for those under 20, get boring. There is seating and lounge chairs, large pools to get wet in plus rides. The best ride is like at Wet n'Wild, in Orlando, Fl. The person enters a small booth with a drop floor that opens. You drop fast down a long tube. It is fun but the drop could be longer for more thrills. The single man tube rides are fairly tame and not scary. It is not a scary ride park at all, but a nice diversion for any tourist with teens or kids. There are many better scary waterpark rides elsewhere, but this is about it for that area I know of. The water was warm as was the air temp inside and we went on a cold day. Kind of expensive.

We went on a Tuesday eve 19-22.
We are my sister ( 27) my son (6) myself (36)
Maybe I should mention that I am a yoga teacher and energy healer.
Entering the entrance hall I felt like a wall of energy hit me, first I was not sure if they were planning some kind of frequency to alter your state. I was not concerned as it was great stuff.
Than I saw 100's of amethysts and rose quartz, smoky and clear quartz ( huge)
I ve been at many fairs and crystal shops, I ve never experience anything quite like it.
The mix of constant water running close by, a glass roof to clear them monthly left those beauties at the height of their healing capacity.
It was fairly empty. And we booked a Himalayan salt grotto for £10 for all of us 45 min. This was not added to out 2.5hr ticketes for the swimming so we would not lose any valuable slide time.
All up 3 people over 3 hrs 40euros-a steal!
I ve to say we did not eat anything so I can't comment on food or service in that sector.
There were enough life guards and the water was clean! As so the changing rooms!
Surely when the place is mobbed and enough people who don't (or do) give a sh** lol invade it would be not pleasurable Indeed.

We loved the slides - best ever as usually my boy is to small to go on any cool ones. In the uk which only leaves him frustrated and roped off feeling. As he is a big boy!

Even wee William loved the Himalayan salt experience and played in the "desert sand" they left us in there for a good hour and I never experience such good value for money. The perfect place to do your own energy work and meditate ! If you look for excitement here you might be disappointed. If you can soak in the energy of several big amethysts amplified by massive ancient pink salt rocks - this is the ticket
I still floating and energised from yesterday and ll cherish this experience forever :-)

One to avoid. Firstly, the cost is OK, but then the problems start. Try NOT to slip over on the tile floor, which are wt and slippery. Doesn't matter if you wear shoes or flip-flops, its lethal under foot. The swimming pool is nothing to write home about, various sections taken over by semi-pornographic acts being openly conducted under various coves, especially in the hot pool, which is dark and selubrious (dirty and slutty). Slides are OK, good fun when you get past the extensive queues. Not enough rubber rings, no sharing *typical and not unexpected*....

But, herein lies the major problem. The water quality is very poor, dirty water, little or no chlorine cleanser, outside grass from the open area fed into filtration systems. Nappies, urine, and in one area some excrement floating in one of the slides.

A very poor experience overall, and now with a foot infection from the dirty water.
