“Regular room ok for sleeping”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

We spent a weekend I Cologne with my husband. The regular room was ok, small and a little worn down but ok for sleeping. The staff was nice and the breakfast was very good.
Distance to the train station and the city center was prefect.

We had booked a regular room which was clean and comfortable, although a little eccentrically decorated. After the first night we paid an additional 20 Euros to upgrade to the comfort room which was so very worth it. The decor, AC, space, bathroom, etc, was excellent and we loved it and would definitely return. The hotel also has a very nice breakfast included in the room price and has excellent resources for how to get the most out of the city, including recommendations for restaurants (it pointed us to one particular restaurant which gave us the best meal we had in Germany on our trip). Finally, the staff was exceedingly friendly, engaging and helpful. Next time we are in Cologne, we will be back.

Room Tip: Without question, it is worth 20 Euros more to upgrade to the comfort rooms.

Stayed for three nights in a comfort room. A very pleasant hotel. The breakfast was more than adequate, anyone complaining about it needs a reality check. Our room was of reasonable size, quiet and the bed was comfortable. Staff were polite and efficient. No noise problems in our room, just ensure you are not in a cheaper room on the road side. It is only a short walk to the main part of town. There are a number of good eating places nearby.

Room Tip: Get a comfort room

I stayed 2 nights and was very pleased with my room, which was decorated with a painting that made me feel I was in a art gallery. The room was large and the bathroom good size and modern good shower. Reception people were friendly and helpful. Breakfast which was included and had a good choice. There were several waiters that came with your coffee and poured it to start, and you had a good sized pot to yourself. This was located about a 15 minute walk to the Cathedral and not far from the Rhine River.

Convenient hotel to stay for a couple nights in the city. 5 mins driving from the station. 10 mins walking from the main Cathedral. Rooms are clean, not small. Staff is helpful. Breakfast is good, full of everything. It's also pizza place next to the hotel. Great value of money!

I was expecting more from a 3 star superior hotel. The breakfast didn't have to much variety of food. The coffee is bad. 2 or 3 types of bread. The cheese isn't good. When the kiwi is finish the don't replace with the same fruit. In fact the fruit is cut in pieces, like a fruit salad, but in separate plates.
The room was good, the bathroom too. The size of the room is good for a short stay in the city. The staff is friendly.

Room Tip: Choose a room that are in back, because of the noise.

I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. It's a nice modern hotel with a great location, just a five minute walk from the central station. However, the first impression given by the front desk team was very disappointing. The receptionist called Nadia wasn't welcoming at all, in fact, I would dare to describe her as rude in the way she approached us and directed the conversation. We were two couples and my friends were served by Sabrina. We got to the hotel a bit early and our room wasn't ready whereas our friends' was free of charge. Then we were asked for a a credig card for incidentals and we refused because I've worked in hotels before and know all the problems that come with it so I asked for our credit to be closed as our room had already been paid but she insisted on a cash deposit although I know it's not legal to force us wheb the room is paid but accepted. The thing that bothered me the most is that Sabrina didnt ask my friends fot either a credit card or a cash deposit!! So I started to think everthing was a big joke!!! As friends had got the room we left our luggage in it for the day when we entered the room the smell of smoke was horrible despite being a non-smoking hotel! In fact the corridors on the first floor always smelled of smoke during our stay!! I have a zero tolerance attitude when it comes to smoke I must admit. To end in a positive note I want to say that they have complimentary wofi that works fine, rooma are of a decent size and breakfast is quite good, especially the breakfast staff!! They all are polite, efficient and fast! So well done to them!!
