Stayed only for 1 night but room (2nd floor - not street facing) was quiet, nice, spacious, clean and beds were comfy. Reception was very good. The little one liked the indoor pool area/ gym very much and the cot bed was beautiful. Be aware of extra charges thought - you have to pay extra for Wifi/ parking and breakfast. Also agree with previous comments that charges appear to be on the high side for WiFI, parking (7.50 per night) and definitely too much for breakfast (18 Euro/ adult).

This hotel is fine for a one night stay but no more. The beds are old and not very comfortable. The TV's only English channels are news.

Something new this time was a kettle and coffee etc in the room.

Wifi worked ok but it's not complimentary.

The biggest positive is the breakfast which is very good for this level of hotel.

Just don't have dinner there as service is slow and food is poor.

This hotel was ok, the staff were not very friendly, the room was comfortable though very small-even by European standards. To say the staff wasn't friendly isn't really fair. I would say half of the staff are wonderful and helpful. The other half (supervisor's and some of the front desk people) were miserably rude. The breakfast was amazing, plentiful, and as long as you don't ask one of the supervisors for help and stick with the ladies refilling stuff they were very nice and helpful, if you ask a supervisor-well expect to be ignored. The pool was refreshing since it was one of the hottest weekends of the year, it was small but we had fun. Metro was very close and easily accessible. The hotel has a pass you can buy, but it isn't worth it, its better to do it and figure it out on your own. The system in Koeln is very easy to understand and very efficient. If you don't want to mess with it the pass the hotel sells you is a tad overpriced, but only by a few euro's. Though our son was free and we didn't need one for him-yet they sold us one anyway telling us he did need one. (he was 3 and the limit according to everything we read in the city said 6 or older had to pay)

All in all it was a decent value, but I will look more the next time we go for a hotel with better staff reviews.

It is a very good quality hotel, close to the high way, and most important shops and restaurants are in walking distance. I had the most comfortable stay and sleep in this hotel in the past few years.

We stayed at mercure cologne west in our first night of our journey to visit family in Bulgaria. Room clean and comfortable but no AC, we asked about this at reception, and were informed that there was no AC in the hotel -- strange for a 4star hotel--- but they find put an electric an in our room. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant and on our return, the an was running and the room lovely and cool. Breakfast the next morning pretty bog standard continental. On the whole a reasonably pleasurable stay.

Went there for a race weekend, good location if heading to Nurburgring.... Nothing impressive, however good German standard, would say 3.5* is more correct than 4 star, however AC was not working when I was there, so I asked to change room, they said the AC was not connected (or installed...???).... Anyhow survived due to open window
Italian dishes at the restaurant was good and good white wine not overpriced, so can't complain
