“nice hotel with efficient staffs”
Reviewed 3 January 2011

The hotel is new & very clean. The staffs were very helpful, advising us to change coins in advance for the tram rides to the Dom area. The breakfast was delicious, plenty to choose from, and the eggs were cooked to order. Only problem was the smoking in the lobby, it was pretty suffocating as I am a non smoker. Luckily my room on the high floor were free of tobacco smell. Overall a very nice hotel.

Wanted nice hotel in order to visit Cologne's many christmas markets. Had previous good experience at Radisson Blu hotels so decided to give this one a try. Booked on expedia and was very clear: 2 adults, 1 child, breakfast included. Confirmation came back was clear that this was included. Upon arrival was informed that we had to pay €27 per night for the extra bed and €11.50 per day for the child's breakfast. I stuck to my guns and insisted they provided what we had booked and that it is their problem with expedia not ours ! Eventually they agreed after two trips to see the "manager".
After this initial hiccup, all was ok. Room comfortable and clean, good beds (got 2 nights good sleep). Breakfast somewhat chaotic but good. Parking in underground secure and warm garage (lots of ice & snow at the time of our trip) - €19 per day.
Location is right side of Rhine but the centre is easily accessible by U-Bahn (tram) - the stop is 2 mins away. Cheap and efficient - day pass for upto 5 people = €10.40. 10 mins to Neumarkt. Not much in the immediate area - other hotels, a Shell petrol station and the Messe.
Hotel is built around an atrium - this is a nice feature apart from the fact that the bar is located here and they allow smoking - which means every time you leave & come back to hotel, go for breakfast, go to lifts etc - you get a lungful of smoke - not good especially with children.
Apart from the niggles, a good hotel and a good stay.

Nice rooms and nice staff. Nice breakfast, but not enough capacity, so we were sent to a conference room with not all breakfast offers available. Annonce Wi-Fi in all rooms, but actually not available in 4.th floor, only a cable internet which is not possible with a smartphone. Worst of all it´s a smoking hotel. You can get a non-smoker room but the lobby is stinking of tobacco as it is allowed to smoke there. Very unhealthy to pass the lobby or sitting there having a drink in the bar. Thought that was illegal now a days. So non-smokers, avoid this hotel.

This hotel is situated in a quiet location (there are roads nearby but no loud noises every disturbed our stay) very stylish and it looks as if it was built not a long time ago. The rooms are large and stylish as well, with a very long bench (serving as a desk) and many available spaces to put your things on. The bathroom was average size, but everything was neat and extremely clean. The big advantage -for us at least- was the hotel's offer of free wi-fi not only downstairs on the lobby but INSIDE the rooms as well! Sauna and fitness facilities (it even had some free weights) were very good. Breakfast was not tasted, as it was found to be too expensive, at EUR23 per person. There's also an italian restaurant inside the hotel, but having looked at the menu, we preferred not to try it, as everything seemed too expensive and we preferred local pubs anyway. In general, we were very happy with the hotel and we certainly would stay there again, if we were to stay at this side of the Rhine, that is. Speaking of location, it wasn't really a problem, as a tram station (that goes underground later on) takes you to the city centre after 4 stops or about a 10-minute ride. However, in terms of location, the best would be to stay on the other side of the Rhine, where the city centre is located. In anycase, it was a good experience and we definitely recommmend it to other travellers.

Located next to the Kolnermesse, and with the tram wich is only a few steps away from the hotel it's easy to reach the citycenter for only 1,60 euro singleway. It's about a 10 minuteride. A cab from the Dom area was 15 euro.

The hotel is good! Rooms are spacious and the bed clean and comfortable enough to sleep a few days good. Bathroom looked clean. Free wifi.

Breakfast tasted also good, many choice. Friendly staff.

I booked this hotel on a weekendoffer, only for 75 euro a night for 2 persons including breakfast. That was absolutely a good offer! I think that they have special weekendoffers, so if you're looking for a cheap weekendbreak you should search the offers on the internet!

O and before I forget: they are very smokersfriendly, in the lobby and bar you may smoke and you can choose for a smokers room.

This is not a leisure hotel due to it's location. Picked this hotel for the wheelchair accesibile room. The shower was great! The toilet and the bed were extremely low making it difficulty for someone in a wheelchair to utilize. The staff were very nice, however, some of the front desk agents speak poor English which makes it difficult to communicate. The Bellman was great and very nice and helpful. The restaurant is over priced and has a very limited menu. The breakfast buffet in Pronto was great with lots of choices too bad it's not open for lunch/dinner. The lobby/bar is nice and open and seems to be a great meeting place as it was always busseling. We did not find the bed to comfortable at all. It was so uncomfortable my handicap sister-in-law slept in her wheel chair! This is my first trip to Germany and I am in the hospitality business so perhaps my standards are a bit high but the lack of sleep and back pain from the bed has me in a foul mood. I am still at the hotel as my flight does not leave until tomorrow but will not be staying her when we come back. The hotel is located in the business district with nothing near by.This is trivial but the hotel does not have a Pop/Soda machine and the ice bucket is small and plastic so your ice does not last long. If your traveling for leisure I do not recomend this hotel.

This place is rather stylish and sleek, but due to very well chosen colors and materials, it is still very personal. Outside looks not very inviting and location rather noisy, right across from cologne fair main entrance. Very large and well decorated rooms and extremly well breakfast buffet, even with some outside seating in a court area. Although you are in a big hotel, you never feel like it. Staff was extremely nice.
