Good service and very good restaurant. Strange enough the breakfast is more expensive for people that stay in the hotel, for people having breakfast but sleeping some where else pay 2 euro less.
There can be noise from the streets, but this depënds on location of your window, windows facing riverside are fine.

Room Tip: single rooms have small bathroom rooms with view to river are quieter

Can't comment on the hotel but we dined in a lovely restaurant next door and went into Der Lowenbrau for a few drinks after dinner. We were with another couple and after checking the drinks menu (Whiskey was €3.95) we ordered two beers and two whiskey and cokes. We had four drinks each over the next three hours and then asked for the bill.

What an absolute rip off. Despite having four drinks each, they charged us for six each and also they charged us €8.50 for each whiskey and claimed that they gave us doubles even though we didn't ask for doubles and we definitely didn't receive them as we most definitely weren't drunk.
The bill should have been about €70 but they were charging us €180 for four drinks each. Eventually after arguing for half an hour and getting nowhere, we reluctantly paid. Please avoid this place or if you do go, ask for a bill after each round so they can't rip you off.

Whilst visiting cologne for 3 days we dined at the restaurant in this hotel for 2 consecutive nights.
Located in the pretty Altstadt right beside the Rhein it is an enviable setting.
The waiting staff were very polite and welcoming. The food was served very quickly and very hot!
A good variety on the menu. After the first night we just had to come back for more.
Highly recommended! We might even consider staying in the hotel next time!

We had a such a nice room it had a nice view. There is good restaurant on downstairs. Stuff was okay. The location of the hotel is awesome. Only bad thing is they are selling internet for 24 hours you should pay 5 euros for each person.

Someone else booked this for us based on location and price. We had read reviews complaining about the noise. As we were there in October, the noise level was minimal. There are a number of hotels with outdoor restaurants on the block and a number of drinking establishments, so I can understand how it may be noisy late at night, especially in the summer. But all of the hotels on the block would have the same problem. These are older buildings, very quaint. Lots of Germans were staying here when we were. If you want a sterile atmosphere, go to the Holiday Inn. The staff were great, the dining room was great. The breakfast (included) was ample. However, a warning: stairs only. So be prepared to carry your bags up and down. Many of the hotels we stayed in were "walk-up" as we try to act like the natives.

Room Tip: Our room looked over the river and was a lovely view.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. The room is very small. The place is very noise. You have to paid 5 euros a day for internet, and if you for example have a phone and a computer, you can only connect one of them. I spent 20 euros on internet, because i'm going to stay for 2 days in Cologne, and the internet is horrible. I very angry at the moment, and I would never recommend this hotel...never.

Room Tip: Do not choose this hotel

PLUS POINTS:

- Hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from cathedral and central station.
- Overlooks the Rhine. Riverboats stop outside
- Good for nightlife - scores of bars/restaurants nearby.
- Rooms clean if small and basic. Beds are comfortable.
- Good buffet breakfast included in price.
- Guests receive 10% off other meals in the restaurant.

MINUS POINTS

- VERY noisy at night. If you are a light sleeper don't stay here.

Hotel is great location for anybody who wants to party for the weekend but not if you want a quiet, relaxing or romantic weekend.
