I loved the meals. It was a great and unexpected play of (ice)cold and warm, fresh and cooked within one meal.
Outstanding service as long as you are the only one in the restaurant. Later in the evening it gets worse by the minute. I didn't like all the different people serving my meal. We started with one very nice girl serving the wine, taking the time to tell about the food (the only one who kept the level of her service high all the time). Two hours later another five people went by. I like to be helped by max of two people.
Nice wines, but I expected them to fit better with the meals. At Tante Anna (also in Dusseldorf) you get to drink wines that really fit the meals, it's like the meal couldn't exist without the wine. I didn't have the same experience with the choices at D'vine.
Friends of the manager and staff get obviously different service and more attention, I hate that.

D'Vine is a small restaurant in downtown Düsseldorf, with 14 points in Gault Millau one of the most highly rated in town. The ambience is very modern and stylish, but with it's straight and simple lines can appear minimalist and cold.

We had the 'goose' course menu, which wasn't bad, but didn't really excite us. The parts of roasted goose we had for our main were a bit dry. We later saw that other tables were served extra sauce with the goose, which would have helped, but which they obviously forgot to serve us. To be fair, the cuisine is definitely above average and the Gault Millau rating could be in the ballpark, but to us it just lacked punch.

The service is rather quick, but not always attentative. Like when we didn't succeed to catch the attention of any waiter to order a glass of wine with our main. Maybe it was because they were too busy chatting with some of their regular guests.

Another downside of the place is that parking is a problem in the area.

D'Vine will appeal to you if you like the coldish style of the place, if you are a regular guest and don't have an issue with parking. For guest like us, with none of the above aforesaid applying, we had a respectable meal, but didn't like it enough to consider returning.

I love my food and wine and this restaurant did both very well! I had 3 courses (1) Gänseleberterrine - foie gras, 2) Weißer Heilbutt - white halibut and 3) Käseauswahl von Affineur Waltmann - cheese plate. The foie gras was phenomenal and the other 2 courses very, very good. My waiter paired a wine with each all of which were great and not over the top expensive either (7€, 9€ and 10€). Also, the greetings from the kitchen (carrot/ginger mousse with a shrimp) was quite tasty. The service was excellent and the atmosphere chic without the snobbiness. I will return here every time I am in Düsseldorf. If you love food and wine then this is your place.
