“Clean and good location”
Reviewed 16 March 2013 via mobile

I spent 4 nighits in the hotel traveling in business purples. The room was ok, big enought and very clean. A very good room service. The breakfast was in German style not opulent but enough diversification and fress and good quality. May be more fruits and vegetables will be appreciated. From a fregvent traveler can be a standard option at a fair price.

Just not a very pleasant experience. The service was fine from the gentlemen behind the desk but the rooms are terrible (need updating). The are is full of what I would call 'scallies' (trouble makers).

I spend 10 days in the hotel for a business trip the position in the center close to the rail station and to the U ban is very helpful, the front desk is always very friendly and helpful, the breakfast is average. Confortable beds. Good Internet.

We made a short citytrip to Düsseldorf. We stayed 2 nights in this hotel. The hotel looked clean, so did the rooms. Rooms were big but hot. Didn't sleep very well because the bed were hard (personal opinion though). View from the rooms is not very good: construction workers are busy throughout Düsseldorf. Everywhere they are building new things. Didn't hear any noises.
Staff was very nice. At the reception they can provide you with a map and tell you where to go. They speak english very well.
Breakfast in the morning was good. Many choices.
The location of the hotel is good. About 10 minutes walk to to citycenter. And 1 minute walk to the tram and busstop. Around the hotel there are many supermarkets or bakeries. If you don't have breakfast included.
I can recommend this hotel. Yeah, the looks are a little old fashion. But who cares, if you only sleep at your hotel, you won't see it ;)

The hotel is well located close to the city centre of Dusseldorf but is suffering at the moment by the construction of the new underground transport system. Some of the work is going on right outside the hotel which makes it difficult to park. Parking is situated underground across the street but to get to your car the reception staff have to come with you to unlock the door.
All the sites are within walking distance from the hotel.
The rooms are decent size with tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was ok, didn't go into the restaurant in the evening so can't comment on that.
The reception staff were very helpful with a smile.

This hotel is not expensive by Dusseldorf standards but is really beginning to look very old fashioned. When the hotel was renovated in the seventies (I am guessing here) it was probaly state of the art and deserved it's four star rating. I'm afraid lack of investment since means the hotel has now slipped well back from currently expected standards. As others have noted the rooms are large but frankly poorly maintained (on my latest stay two lamps did not work and really should have been checked). Lack of air conditioning is definitely a problem.
Probably will nto stay here again but cannot really say it was over-priced. You get what you pay for.

There is no way I can think of that this hotel can justify a 4 star rating. It boggles my mind, unless I've been totally spoiled by hotels in Asia!

The area is not great, aside from the location being in a not-so-visually appealing area and away from the Rhine, it is also completely covered by extensive construction work (including the front of the hotel).

No renovation has been done since the 1970's at least... extremely outdated and all the facilities are old. Lastly, there is no airconditioning. I'd suggest that in Dusseldorf, for 9 months of the year that isn't an issue. However, it was around 22-24 degrees when we stayed, and the rooms and hallways were like a sauna.

To get around this, a few of us tried opening our windows, but the noise was really, really bad (said construction probably didn't help with this). Tram noise was also extremely loud.

Security, not great. You had the old keys and had to hand them into reception on the way out.

On the positive side, the rooms were large and the bar in the lobby was manned 24/7.

If it hadn't been for the stifling heat and the fact this hotel claims to be 4 star, I would have given this hotel a 3.

Room Tip: away from the street. If you need to open the windows, the noise is diabolical
