It is indeed. Well located, once it was quite ok architectually, today it's outdated. The rooms are nice, but the carpet is not reflecting perfect clean feeling. Services are ok, they offer the minibar included, but there are just 2 waters and 2 sodas in there. A small kindness is the electric water kettle and the coffee in the room. Also there is coffee to go and some fruits for quick leaving guest at the reception if you don't take the breakfast.

Room Tip: Take a room from the courtyard side, it should be quieter!

We spent 3 days exploring Dusseldorf and booked this hotel as it was close to Koenigsalle and the Old Town. We can't fault the location as we it was so close to all the areas we wanted to explore.

We knew this hotel would be very basic, but at least hoping it would comfortable. The decor is very minimalist and that was absolutely fine for us. We booked a standard double room which was a decent size. However, we put in Room 205 which is right next to the stairs - the anti-slam mechanism for the fire door was extremely inadequate. The door would slam shut very loudly and every single time our room would vibrate from the force! This carried on during the night until early morning. Needless to say we had a terrible night's sleep.

We can't fault the staff as they were very friendly and helpful from the start. We asked to be moved and explained the reason why (which didn't seem a surprise to them). The staff are the only reason why this hotel gets a 3 circles and not 2.

We were moved room 409 - it was much bigger and had more natural light coming into the room. However, that night we soon found out how flimsy the walls were - we could hear the TV and conversations going on in the room next door! (They were speaking normally and not shouting). Again the noise factor made a decent night's sleep impossible for the duration of our stay.

The beds were a bit squishy but could have been bearable for a short stay had it not been for the noise. The bathrooms were clean - bring your own toiletries - like shampoo & conditioner, etc - as they only have a liquid dispenser that doubles as shower gel and shampoo. The free soft drinks in the room were a nice touch. There was also a kettle for tea and coffee.

A buffet breakfast at the hotel costs 14.50 Euros. We tried this on our last day - standard buffet choices; nothing special and certainly not worth the price. (If you have time, visit Rosie's instead, which was recommended to us by staff at the hotel - right out the hotel, and then right again. They offer a varied breakfast, lunch and dinner menu and extremely large portions).

We paid over 100 Euros per night for this hotel (breakfast not included) - we could have had a room at the Radisson in Media Harbour, but choose this one for it's location. I wouldn't book this hotel again and I wouldn't recommend this hotel either if you want a comfortable night's sleep.

Room Tip: Avoid room 205 (or any room near the stairs) - the ant-islam mechanism isn't great, so every tim...

Dear guest,

many thanks for taking the time to share your impressions of your stay with us. It is always important to us to know our guests' opinion to improve our product and service.

First of all, we are happy, that you pointed out the friendliness of our staff. Our aim is to create elation with our professional service. Good to read, that we achieved this target at your service. Also good to read, that you enjoyed the free drinks in the minibar and the coffee making facilities. In the bathrooms we do not provide bath amenties in general, but you can receive them any time at our front desk. We woud be happy to prepare bath amenties in your room for your next stay. Simply let us know in advance.

We are sorry, that you did not feel well with the room size and the loudness of the room. We have to mention, that the hotel consits of three different buildings, which were originally not planned as a hotel. That fact causes, that every room has another room size. By renovationg the rooms last year we tried our best to isolate the walls as good as can be, but the building remains old, and it may be, that sometimes noises from your neighbours are audible. We would like to appologize for any inconveniences caused.

It would be great, if you give us a second chance to convince you of our hotel. We woud be happy to welcome you again at the Wyndham Garden Düsseldorf City Centre Königsallee!

Kind regards

the staff was careless, the room wasn't 100% clean, the facilities not worth the money, e.g. shower was old, water temperature changed between very hot and very cold, nightmare, the breakfast was poor for the money, there are lots of better places to go to in short walking distance, i used their telephone but they didn't publish the rates and charged me over 6 € for a 1 1/2 minute conversation within germany, rip off! i had the feeling they just care about their profit but not about their guests, the only positive thing is the location but on the same note there are better places to stay around the corner

Room Tip: go somewhere else

Stayed here for one night. Although booked for à standaard room we recieved à nice 3 room studio! Which included a bedroom, bathroom and a tiny livingroom with a teras. The room had a mimimalistic modern interior. We recieved 4 softdrinks, Apple, a kiwi, peanuts and chocolats for free. The hotel is centrally located 10 minutes walking distance from the christmasmarkets and 5 minutes from the shoppingstreet, Koningsallee. Restaurants and bars are directly in the neighboorhood.
Breakfast was good, staff very friendly. One suggestion for the hotel is to replace the matrasses. Ours were used and therefore to soft.
Will come back!

We visited the Christmas markets and needed a hotel for a night. We ended up at the Wyndham because of location, price and availability. The welcome was very good with the staff explaining everything to us. Because we joined their free membership program we got an upgrade to a superior room (we booked basic) and we received welcome drinks and food.
The room was spacious and had the basics covered. Toilet amenities were missing though but on the bathroom wall was a dispenser with soap/shampoo. The TV had 30+ stations but most were in Germany. Drinks in the minibar are for free and are daily refilled. The Wi-Fi is included and works very fast. The breakfast was more than enough. Also parking is nearby in one of the three parkings in the street. Prices are reasonable (13 EUR per day). The location is about 5 minutes from the shopping street in Düsseldorf and about 10 minutes from the Christmas market. We will definitely booking this hotel again when we are in Düsseldorf.

Room Tip: Superior room is a nice spacious room (414).

I stayed here with my wife and young daughter when we had a 24-hour layover in Dusseldorf and wanted to visit the Christmas markets. The hotel was located close enough to the old town / Christmas market area, but was far enough away to be quiet. I believe it was about 4 -5 blocks away. The room we stayed in was a bit dated and drab, but we did not think we would be staying at a boutique hotel, so no problem. The staff was wonderfully helpful and spoke fluent, conversational English. We also really enjoyed the breakfast buffet -- definitely worth paying for when you book. And the free gluhwein in the lobby was a nice touch!

Just had a great weekend here for the Christmas markets. Friendly, efficient service, small but smart bar, great location for Konigsalle and not far from the old town. Its also easy to reach from the Hauptbanhof, where the airport connections stop, on foot as well which is handy. Rooms are a decent size for the centre of town and we found them sleek, minimalist and spotless. Free wifi and liked the free soft drinks in the room, great when you have had too much schloss alt. Would book again.
