No problem with this hotel. Very basic and reasonable cost which zooms up during trade fair times. Only ten minutes from the station on foot. Just turn left and walk diagonally right.. Really cant go wrong.. hmm... Usual business hotel bed, table, bed and shower. TV though... don't expect kettles and tea bags etc. Breakfast early through till ten. Tea ( really need boiling water as its an urn that doesn't seem hot enough for British tea taste only in my opinion. Juice, cereals and eggs. Different breads on offer - usual continental fare. Rooms are very clean and the staff are pleasant and friendy. The walls are thin every human sound can be heard so beware! This hotel is fine for short business trips. Very handy for the tram and bus.
No luxuries but you ain't paying luxury prices. Perfectly adequate

Room Tip: All basic. Very quiet..

Decent hotel, we stayed here recently when attending a Manchester United game in Leverkusen, the hotel is a short walk from the main train station which can talk you anywhere in Germany. A taxi from the airport will cost you around 20-25 euro. over all a decent hotel not much to write home about. Brekfast is on the house so enjoy that if your into that kind of food! Enjoy your stay!

The Furstenhof / Novum Maxim Hotel was pre-booked early in 2013 in anticipation of my visit to the Medica last week, expecting decent accommodation based on the website details. On the contrary the Hotel was totally misrepresented. The entrance was dark & "dirty", the lift small,
the room passage dark & smelly the greatest diaappointment being the room itself. This reminded me of my worst Hotel experience anywhere with cabinets "falling apart", no writing table or chair, no room safe & no Internet. Worse to come the mattress was third grade, with a cushion to match, instead of a decent bedlight I was favoured with an uncovered bare globe.

This Hotel requires to be investigated by the Dusseldorf Tourism Board for mis-representing its promised values on the Internet !!!

Room Tip: Choose a different Hotel first.

Location of the hotel is at a reasonable distance from the city center and the Koenigsallee. The best selling point for the hotel is the huge, partly private, parking garage in front of it at only Euro 10,00 a day. The wifi only works in the reception area and in the staircases.

The worst part however is the breakfast. A dark, old fashioned room with old bread and cold eggs. We had to get our can of coffee ourselves as staff was nowhere to be found.

When you are able to obtain a room at a good price you should, but don't expect to much of it.

I feel I am writing a review on the wrong hotel. I had booked a night for myself and two boys in the Hotel Beyer through Booking.com but when we arrived there was a sign on the door saying the hotel was closed and to ring a number. There was NO notice from the Hotel Beyer and in fact I had emailed the previous day to book a car park space and there was NO mention of the change from them. Think it would have been polite so that we could have made other arrangements if we didn't want to stay at the Fuerstenhof.

Care when booking a car parking space. It costs €10 per night. We weren't told when we booked.

The hotel itself was ok. Cost £80 for a night for a twin and a single room which is good value. Location is central and breakfast was satisfactory. Overall ok place but just cross because of the change and no one told us. Have a suspicion that they are both owned or connected in some way.

Would I stay again. Yes but just bear in mind that it is BASIC and you get what you pay for.

Someone wrote that it took 15 minutes to walk to the HauptBahnhof. I'm a slow walker and it never took me more than 10 minutes. I stayed 4 nights at the hotel and was pleased with the friendly staff, and cleanliness of the room. The breakfast was really very good, too. The downside was the terrible Wi-Fi connection. You had to be in the lobby to receive it, but even then it only worked half the time. This has been an on-going issue for the hotel, and the staff told me there were no plans to change the system. You absolutely cannot count on using the Wi-Fi at this hotel, and this made it very hard for me to stay in touch with business associates and family. The location of the hotel is safe, even when walking late at night. The rooms are smallish, but for the price it was very reasonable. The heat in my room was excellent, and quite controllable.
