The recently refurbished hotel indigo is a great place to stay in dusseldorf. The decor is chic and tasteful and the rooms are average size and very nicely furnished It is probably 20 mins walk away from the centre / tourist area but we found lovely local restaurants for dinner and breakfast. It is also very convenient for the airport - only a 10 minute drive. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Overall, all four in our group liked the Hotel Indigo in Düsseldorf. The rooms were really great - the bed, ensuite, seating and desk areas immaculate and comfortable, and the breakfast fresh, good and varied. We liked its close proximity to the Victoriaplatz Ubahn station. The hotel is located in a nice, convenient neighborhood. It was a block from a grocer, specialty shops and a Starbucks, as well as walking distance to many interesting spots. For a special treat, there is a chocolate shop across the street. Hotel staff were all pleasant and helpful. In-room wifi connection was slow, however. Though the staff were diligent and tried their best to help, we were disappointed to find that the only good internet connection was found in the hotel lobby. If the in-room wifi situation improves, we would definitely stay here again, as it was perfect in every other way.

Room Tip: Ask for a room closer to wi-fi signal.

stayed in Indigo with my wife and daughter 14 y.o. in may 2014 for one night during european 2 weeks car trip. it was our 10th 3-4 star hotel in 14 days, so I had enough benchmarks before Indigo.
Location is good. Rather central, but in quite area.
You can get down town by metro ( 1 station) or by foot 15-20 minutes/
The room is spacious. Very comfortable beds. Creative posters on the walls. Clean and modern bathroom ( shower ). The only minus of the room 114 was it facing the main street and the bar in front. as it was saturday, there were loud companies leaving the bar till late at night/
Wifi works well, but you have to recconnect every time you shot down your computer. Not convenient/ needs to be fixed/
Very good breakfast.
Public Parking is next to the hotel.

The hotel turned out to be very expensive: 300 euros per night for 3 persons/ The reception said that it was due to some international trade show in dusseldorf this week/
The staff was well trained and polite/
Recommend if you manage to get a better rate/

Room Tip: choose the rooms facing the backyard. it is a very nice green mini park

Dear Vboyarkin,

thank you for your writing about your experience at our hotel. We are pleased that you found the accommodations and location great.
Next time you might want to choose one of our rooms in the higher floor as they are quieter.
Please ask for one of them on your next booking!
Also we are very happy to tell you that we have improved our internet system to provide an easier log in procedure and higher speed this month
We hope to see you and your family soon again in our Hotel, then without a big fair in Düsseldorf and lower room rates...

I'm a regular visitor to Dusseldorf on business, at least once a month for now 9 years!
First time I've stayed here, because the messe was on most hotels where I normally stay were either full or ridiculously priced.
This was more expensive than normal - but that's Dusseldorf for you!
But it's a great hotel, nice rooms, very pleasant staff and good location for me just a couple of stops to the altstadt and a few more to where my office is in little Tokyo!
I highly recommend

This was my first stay in an IHG Indigo property. I booked two rooms to enjoy a relaxing evening with family in Dusseldorf before flying out of Frankfurt the following day.

Check in staff were very unfriendly, not even bothering to welcome us to the hotel or give the customary recognition offered to IHG Platinum members. Check in was also very disorganized with our room keys not having been prepared in advance. Once the keys were provided I had to return to reception TWICE as they did not work!

Wireless speeds were terrible, even after being given a 24 hour access code with "unlimited" speed rather than the default 512 kbps package offered. I see others have complained about this in the reviews as well.
The hotel occupancy was obviously very low and surprisingly we were not offered a room upgrade or any other sort of benefits.
On a more positive note, there are a number of nice pubs and coffee shops nearby as well as a small supermarket a meer 50 meters from the front of the hotel. The hotel bar is pleasant with a great drinks menu and friendly staff.
All in all we (party of 5) were very disappointed with the experience, in particular the front desk staff and poor services.

Reason for Visit: Family Time
Next Destination: Miami, Florida
Pros Location, Room Cleanliness, Bar
Cons Amenities, Recognition for IHG® Rewards Club Members, unfriendly staff

Dear md3v,

thank you for being an IHG Rewards Club Platinum Elite member and for leaving us a feedback. We certainly apologize for the inconveniences you experienced over the unsatisfactory service you received from the staff. We are also sorry that the internet connection was not at its best.
I´m very happy to tell you that we will renew our wifi system in the next month to guarantee top speed wifi access.
We would be pleased if you could give us the opportunity to show you that we improved our operations and prepare a special treat for you as an IHG Rewards Club Platinum Member.

Sincerely
Katja Schnabel
