Pros: Mid-way between shopping street and main train station, and walkable to both. 5 min walk to huge supermarket and cafe/restaurant. Good wifi signal. Given kettle to use. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Good shower water flow. Good value.

Cons: Limited English channels on tv. Noisy bar fridge and pillow too high for comfort. Area may be unsafe at night due to proximity to main train station. Thin side door which opens to a small smoking area that is blocked only by a blind, and can hear people talking at smoking area outside room.

Just returned from a short 2 day holiday staying at this hotel, and it certainly met my requirements fully. I agree with previous reviewers regarding its great location a short walk from the main train station and 15 minute walk to the main shopping areas including the Konigsallee with its picturesque waterway down the middle and on to the old town and the riverside promenade, with their plentiful restaurants and bars. I walked to these areas several times during my short stay with ease. My twin room on the 5th floor was spacious and really clean, with modern bathroom including a walk in shower. The free WiFi was effective also. Breakfast was also perfectly acceptable with all the normal choices on offer. A small reception/seating area wasn't a problem, and I sat and relaxed for an hour here before my walk back to the station chatting to one of the very helpful ladies on reception. Excellent value for money compared with the large hotels and I would definitely return again.

To be fair the room i had was very good - clean, comfortable and a really good size. Compared to the outside look it really impressed me. Shower was average and bathroom clean. Very small lift and didn't trust it so used the stairs.
My concern was that i went out and on the way asked whether the doors were open 24 hour and they were automatic slide doors and i hadn't been told otherwise, i was told it would be ok but on my return at 11.30pm they were locked shut. With it being -8 outside this worried me a bit. Luckily i managed to get the attention of a staff member but if i had been elderly or not so lucky not sure what i'd have done. This should be made clear when you check in.
good location, probably 6-8 minute walk to station.

The hotel is less than a 10 minute walk from the main station so is easy to get to. We walked to the old town via Königsallee and it took about 15 minutes. There are some restaurants nearby, a mini market a few doors down and, best of all, Brauerei Schumacher is a 5 minute stroll away.

Our room was quite large and it was clean and comfortable. We had a fridge, safety deposit box, a couple of comfy chairs and a TV with loads of channels in lots of different languages. There was no aircon but as it was January we didn't need it anyway. The wifi was adequate.

The staff at the hotel were great, very friendly and helpful.
