Excellent location, just a stroll down from the Hauptbahnhof. Didn't look too flash from the outside but once through the entrance, pleasantly surprised. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was a treat. Bathroom spacious. The breakfast spread was top notch and the glass roof created a great ambiance. Only gave four stars for cleanliness as someone had tramped dog poo up the first flight of stairs...otherwise, My favourite hotel, ever !

I stayed there again. I had a single room, which was not large but very functional. A good shower, but most importantly, quiet and a great bed which have me a good sleep. The best is always the breakfast; a great German breakfast with additional French cheeses. Of course, made to order eggs. I noticed many familiar faces among the staff, which is always a good sign. A few tips: large groups sometimes stay there, so I suggest paying the bill before breakfast and order your taxi at that time.

The hotel is located close to the Central State station and it takes about 15 minutes to walk to the city center and about 20 minutes to walk to the Rhein. The neighborhood is rather quiet, though there are some porn theaters and clubs around as well as cheep national restaurants of all sorts. No noise, no obnoxious people. The hotel staff was efficient and helpful, the room was rather small , but immaculate, well furnished and equipped. What really surprised me was the bathroom: not a single towel hook or holder, lack of toiletries, weird dirty floor... What we really liked was breakfast: abundance of hot dishes: pancakes, waffles, all types of eggs; various pastries and snacks, different types of cheese, meat, fruit etc. etc. The last thing I'd like to mention is the smell: both breakfast room and the hall of the 1st floor smelt of stale water or something equally gross.

We stayed here for the last night of or trip, and what a letdown. First of all, the hotel is in a seedy area, surrounded by peep shows, porn stores, and gay porn theatres. After our thankfully short walk through the neighborhood from the train station, we arrived at 1:30 p.m. and were told that we'd be charged an extra 30 Euros to go to our room before 3. Meanwhile, it was a cold, rainy Sunday and nothing was open. Nice. We refused to pay and off we went.

When we got back 4 hours later, cold and soggy, we went up to what was supposed to be our non-smoking room. Guess what? It wasn't. They were able to accommodate us, but it was another annoyance. The room we were in was average sized, but very dark. The bedding was less than stellar as well, and the hair dryer in the room didn't work either.

When we went out for dinner, our initial suspicion was correct when we saw two teenage girls working the corner behind the hotel with their pimp. Not the nicest area, and not a very good hotel either. Avoid.

The hotel is well locatwd however my Navi didnt know Am Stresemanplatz only Strese
manplatz!! We could park the car within and even same level as reception. Thereafter the public transport connection are easy, e. g. strolling in and around town (they say their old city is the longest counter and pub crawling is fun here). The local Altbeer tastes good!
The staff nearly pushed my evaluation into exvellent. Rhis camnot be compared to a 5 star but for its location and queitness, easiness it is recommendable.

The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from the central train station, and about 5-10 minutes from Koningsallee, the main shopping street. Check-in went smoothly. The hotel room itself was decent - we had two single beds which were very comfortable even if they were slightly small. The bathroom was a good size, everything was very clean. Shampoo and shower gel are available, not much more in the form of toiletries. One issue I did have with my stay is that Wi-Fi wasn't free. I did buy an hour's worth of Wi-Fi, but it was slow and unreliable, frequently timing out - a complete waste of money. There is a PC downstairs in the lobby for guests to use free of charge which is convenient to check in to your flight and print out your boarding pass before you fly out. I didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but there were quite a few options in the nearby area - a bakery opposite the central station for a quick and cheap breakfast, or you can head to Bahnstrasse where you can have a nice breakfast (or lunch) at Heineman's, or Koningsallee for breakfast at Leysieffer - very nice breakfast buffets on the weekend. All in all, a good hotel to stay at, I just wish that Wi-Fi was included.
