“Beautiful Hotel, Friendly Staff!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 December 2013

Villa Achenbach is a really lovely hotel in a quiet neighborhood. Beautiful and very clean accommodations, tastefully decorated. The Christmas decorations added to the warmth of the already cozy feel. The staff was eager to assist at any time and always professional. We would definitely stay there again on future trips to Dusseldorf. If you are looking for a change of pace from the usual large hotels and want to enjoy the peace and quiet of a small boutique hotel you really should try Villa Achenbach.

Everything about this hotel is romantic. From the tree lined street to the decor and our room. The room was comfortable, very clean and stylish according to the era with a very nice modern bathroom. Despite arriving very late in the night we were greeted warmly and the staff were always very professional and helpful. Breakfast was very nice also.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street or backyard have a nice view.

Stayed here 1 night while travelling for work. Was assigned a room in the semi-basement, apparently one of the largest rooms of the hotel. It was just incredible. Super comfortable bed, amazing rain shower and beautiful decorations.
The hotel staff was super friendly and breakfast was as one would expect in Germany; good quality food and a large choice.
Highly recommending this hotel!

Room Tip: The rooms downstairs are very large and quiet

The hotel Villa Achenbach must rate as one of the best small, boutique hotels in Dusseldorf. It is a charming hotel of only 18 beautifully furnished & appointed rooms in a quiet residential area of Dusseldorf, within easy reach of the Altstadt (Old Town), 5 minutes by taxi or tram and only 25 mins walk. There is no restaurant at the hotel but the breakfast room is very nice and the continental buffet has a wide selection of good and plentiful food. There is no formal bar, but drinks can be served in the lounge. There are several very good restaurants within a short distance from the hotel (Italian, Spanish, etc) and an excellent fish restaurant within 10 mins walk. There is also a local pub (sports bar) closeby with several pool and snooker tables. Value for money is excellent at Villa Achenbach but beware of much higher room rates when exhibitions are being held in the city (this can be quite frequent). Overall you will be very comfortable and not disappointed with this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the garden at the rear of the hotel are very quiet, but the street in front of the hote...

We were overnighting in Dusseldorf and stayed at this lovely hotel. Everyone was very helpful and the breakfast is wonderful. The room was very nice and modern with beautiful colors. Really a wonderful experience in every way.

What a wonderful week at Hotel Villa Achenbach! Beautiful, relaxing, and a delicious breakfast. The staff was wonderfully attentive and spoke English quite well. It's a perfect choice if visiting Dusseldorf.

We had 24 hours in Dusseldorf, flying in from LA and connecting to Florence. Originally we thought we'd stay at one of the airport hotels, then realized Dusseldorf airport is close to the city and chose this hotel on the rave reviews. It was better than described or the photos picture it. Johanna welcomed us upon our arrival and spoke perfect English. At our asking she recommended a fabulous restaurant, Fuchschen Alt in the Aldstat and gave us tram directions to get their easily. The room, furnishing, breakfast, neighborhood were all great. It was so quiet and lovely. Don't pass this one up if you're in Dusseldorf!
