“Homely feel and family touch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2014

This hotel has a very homely feel and family touch. Good sized rooms and decent furnishings. There is a lovely spa with various steam rooms free of charge. The best about the hotel and a good reason to visit is the reasonably priced breakfast - a huge selection that makes it difficult to decide what to eat and you end up eating far too much. Friendly staff in the breakfast room.

Room Tip: Ask for a room higher up - there are also rooms outside the hotel on the ground floor.

The area near Dusseldorf station is a little gritty-lots of ethnic takeaways and shops and lots of similar-looking hotels.

The Stadt Muenchen was definitely one of the nicer locally-owned properties. It is clean, has up-to-date furnishings, good amenities, and exceptionally friendly and competent front desk staff. The breakfast wasn't to my liking, but I never opted to pay for it and many of the folks in the breakfast room were happily munching away. The single room I stayed in was very reasonably priced, even considering the small but adequate size of the room.

Room Tip: Economy singles are more than adequate for a solo traveler

Isomers trip to an exhibition, would recommend this hotel in a good location with friendly staff.
Breakfast buffet is very good!
Easy location from the tram and easy access into Dusseldorf centre.
Good restaurants and bars within easy access.
Recommend to Thai and the Spanish eateries.

This 4 star Hotel is in walking distance to the main railway station. Nice clean and quiet rooms. Free and efficient WiFI. The breakfast buffet is outstanding and service is very nice. Check-in and -out procedures ok although with many additional information and signatures to the booking.com infos.

Staying at the Stadt Muenchen Hotel for a 6 day convention. Our client is covering the hotel cost so we're not exactly what the rate is... so this is an unbiased review.

Checkin was smooth. We arrived at the hotel at 7am and they had rooms ready for us. Breakfast is inclusive and one of the BEST I've had. They have a fantastic selection of cured meats, cheeses, fresh fruits, yogurts... and the typical bacon and eggs (which I never bothered trying).

We have a one-bed room and a two-bed room. The two-bed room is MUCH larger than the one. The rooms are very CLEAN and the use of space is good. The bathrooms are clean also with a towel heating rack! The hallways are extremely quiet and elevator is quick.

We went down to the fitness area to check it out. It's pretty much bare-bone with a treadmill, elliptical (which squeaks) and a universal machine. It's good enough if you just want to use the treadmill or use a universal for fun.. but if you want to get a decent workout into your day... you could be disappointed. The upside is that there is a sauna by the gym... and a tanning bed (if that floats your boat).

Germans are not known for their warm hospitality... so this place is no different, but they are grumpily accommodating

Location is good in that we've so far walked everywhere. It's a 15 minute walk to Old Town (Alstadt) and 10 minute walk to high-end shopping district. There are restaurants EVERYWHERE in this area, starting with a 30 second walk etc.

I would definitely stay here again!

Location is great, perfect to walk to all highlights of Dusseldorf. Staff are friendly and helpful. Free wifi available.

One thing is I got lost and took nearly an hour to find hotel. Map to hotel (of booking.com) is wrong. Actually it's pretty near the train station.

And unfortunately there was a loud noise at night. I wish I had my ears-plugs with me. It'd be perfect :)

Anyhow I'd recommend it as a good place to stay anyway.

Why booking pretentious overpriced brand hotels? This hotel offers everything you need for a short business trip. My room was on the first floor at the backside. Very silent and I could even sleep with the window opened which I never experienced in any hotel so far.
Also important, free WIFI. However, the procedure for retrieving a userid and password at the desk seems to be a bit outdated.
Breakfast was also excellent, a buffet with loads of choices, so I will definitely come back at my next visit.

Room Tip: Based on my experience, ask for a room on the backside.
