“One Night Stay in Dusseldorf”
Reviewed 28 November 2012

The best of my hotel stays in Europe. Excellent service, good rooms and a lovely breakfast. Room was really good and i didn't feel like i was staying in a cramped up space. Very close to the train station and also close to the attractions. Ideally located and also close to the local eateries. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Dusseldorf.

Expensive (310 € per night) and ugly. Terribly bad smell in the rooms. Disapointing to see such hotel in Easytobook list.

I stayed at this hotel during the famous Drupa Exhibition, booked through hrs.com, the price was ok in comparison with other hotels in the region( during drupa all hotels double and triple their prices). It was supposed to be a 3 star city hotel ,but unfortunately it was more of a 1-2 star hotel.
The room was quite dirty, the carpeting had lots of stains, the bed and especially the mattress seemed so used and unclean. I even found a bug crawling up from the side of the bed..
Bathroom was very poor, the toillet seat had un-cleanable stains, there was a leak that kept dripping 24h a day, bathroom supplies consisted of toilette paper , a mini sachet of shower gel and a tiny soap. The shower was filled with hair from past guests and some parts were broken, it was disgusting.
The whole room was quite smelly. I had a reservation for a smoking room, but there was no ashtray.
The only acceptable thing was their breakfast (standard german hotel breakfast cold cuts, cheese, butter, jam, eggs, coffee, juice)
The staff(mostly russians) was also friendly.
The location was pretty good though, 10 min to central train station, 5 min to next subway station, 15min to the old town (bars, restaurants and shopping) waling distance.
Overall, it's not a good hotel, there are better option, especially for the price which was about 180euro/night.

Be ready to that exhibitions are increasing the prices at residing in hotels. In this case there was the most optimum variant (not the highest price for double for one person). The breakfast has been included in the price. Pure numbers, good cleaning, polite staff . The lift lifts only 2 persons. Street noise don't disturb me, but it was. The hotel has 3 stars, only because of staff and convenient location. The old city, the underground, Railway station -it is possible to reach on foot.

Room Tip: kindly staff are always ready to help

My heart sank as I stood on the pavement looking at this hotel for the 1st time. It looked like a cheap and nasty 1960s office block with an interior that definitely matched. Upstairs, the corridor was dingy with a heavily stained carpet. The lights in the room didn't work and when I tried to phone reception, the phone didn't work either. The bathroom was poorly lit, the ceramics were cracked and the ceiling so low above the bath tub that it was only barely high enough to be able to stand up in the tub. In the morning, breakfast was entirely cold and uninteresting.

Given that this hotel is quite a hike from the Altstadt, there seems very little reason to stay there.

Room Tip: Go to a different hotel
