“Nothing special”
Reviewed 29 May 2012

For a 5-star hotel this hotel is entirely underwhelming. The rooms are very non-chalant and appear similar to any other, mainstream hotel chain. We were also disappointed that access to the gym, sauna/steam room, and pool costs an additional 15 euro per person per business day. Again, for a hotel that portrays itself as a luxury, upper-class hotel many things were missing- no hotel slippers, complimentary water was not replaced after our first night, our bed was never turned down at night, internet was DSL in-room for 5euro/hour- no wifi, and the in-room iron was quite old and not a steam-iron. I know these sound knit-picky but I could get all of these at a more mid-range, equally as comfortable hotel that grants access to its spa and gym facilities without an additional charge. It's not that it's a bad hotel, it's just nothing in particular and doesn't offer that step above we were looking for.

Nice rooms.
Wonderful breakfast.
All a bit expensive, not good that gym (yes, I know it is a Holmes Place...) charges hotel guests.
Check out was a bit odd. The only questions that were asked were: Have you used the minibar and have you used the internet? Instead of, was everything ok for you during your stay?
Also, it is a shame that even RA members are not allowed in the lounge, which always seems empty!

Room Tip: pay more for a good room.

I spent two nights in the InterContinental Dusseldorf for a 3 day workshop. The room and the hotel grounds are very clean and modern. The service attitude and attentiveness of the staff is also very impressive. Although most business trips dont allow for much relaxation, I was able to recharge here.

I hope to visit again soon!

The InterContinental Dusseldorf was our base for visiting Dusseldorf at the end of a recent trip to Germany, and it was certainly a good choice. Standards throughout the hotel are consistently high, and from arrival to departure we were impressed by the standard of hospitality and service.

The property shares its frontage with offices which are integrated with the development; once inside it is truly impressive, with rooms rising above a soaring atrium, and with each floor themed on a different cultural figure. Glass elevators quickly take you to your room, and the accommodation was of the standard expected from InterContinental.

As we explored Dusseldorf we quickly discovered that we could not have been in a better location. Our stay at the InterContinental Dusseldorf was a wonderful experience - and we look forward to a return visit.

Room Tip: Many of the rooms overlook the atrium (with no exterior views).

Paid 270 euro for one night. I like this hotel, it's well run, up to date, and modern. Good business facilities. If you need WiFi, ask for an adaptor in your room.

Being a Priority Club Member since 2003, it would've been nice to have access to the Club Room, which was not the case. Although I was satisfied with my room and the service, I would not stay here again. I'd rather pay a little less or more and go somewhere nearby instead.

Room Tip: Even number for a view of outside rather than the atrium.
