Just what we needed for one night in Dusseldorf.
It had everything you need for a short stay. A fridge with free beer and coca cola. Breakfast, little of everything that you need and it felt fresh. The rooms very good, free wifi in the room. You got a transportation ticket that was valid even in Dortmund where we went the next day. We ate lunch at the Essbar in the same house and it was very good also. Overall a good stay and I will stay here next time again.

Stayed four nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is within easy walking distance to the railway station (5 mins). The hotel was very clean and we received a lovely welcome from Petra and each day she was always wanting to know where we'd been and if we had enjoyed ourselves. The seeded rolls at breakfast were delicious so much that we only had scrambled eggs on the first day. Dusseldorf is a lovely city for a short break and we enjoyed hopping on the tram down to the Mediahafen and the riverbank using our free pass supplied by Petra at the hotel. We took a day trip to Cologne using the free pass and extension ticket (make sure you get on a RE train). With four days of great weather we had a really lovely break.

All the reviews are "spot on" for this hotel. We needed a hotel for 1 night between flights and did not want to stay by the airport as we had time to explore. The Max Hotel Garni was everything we wanted. Close to the train station (one can either walk or take the tram) and priced right. Check-in was quick and we pre-paid as we were leaving early the following morning before the staff arrived, we were given instructions where to leave the keys and how to let ourselves out.

The guest refrigerator in the hall was a nice touch as it was stocked with beer - thanks.

this hotel is a very good value. The rooms are very nice, adequate size. Breakfast was very good as was the service of Petra. The surrounding area is noisy so bring ear plugs for sleeping. The location is within walking distance of the Hauptbahnhof. we stayed there on 2 occasions and had rooms on both sides of the hotel. the noise was the same on either side.

This is central to Dusseldorf and handy for all shops/ restaurants/river side 15 mins.
Parking not good but Petra was great help and guarded our spot while we moved and changed our sat nav to English- thanks.
Hotel small but very good basic facilities - nice breakfast/ free drinks cabinet.
It's not luxurious but very handy/ clean/ all you need and great service.
We would stay again.
Thanks to Petra

We arrived after the staff were gone for the day (they called me, helpfully, and arranged to leave a key for us) and left before they'd really opened the next morning (our host came in early to check us out), so we didn't get the full experience here (including breakfast, which we left before). The hotel is close-ish to the bahnhof and buses and not far off a main street (where you'll find dining options). Our room was large and stylish. Our main impression was of our host's willingness to meet our needs, even though we were just passing through.
