“THIEVES”
Reviewed 24 December 2013

They charged me much more than they were supposed to and don't want to credit the difference.
I paid the room for my son who was traveling alone for the first time.
When he got there they blackmailed him into paying an outrageous surcharge .

Room Tip: Avoid this hotel

Positive: nice breakfast, large room (although I booked a single room), friendly staff, in front of the train station, clean, candy on the bed :-).
Negative: no free wifi, you have to pay hotspot, staff could not help me with hotspot- (internet) problem

the hotel is located direct at the train station .
it is Easy to reach at the city can be discovered by foot .
The room size is ok , the furniture too . the sleeping comfort is ok , the matraze good but in the rooms directed to the street it s quiet loud - even in the night .
i would rather say it s a good 3 star hotel than a 4 Star hotel .
For a short stay it s ok not for vacation

Room Tip: ask for a room not to the street

We booked this hotel through Booking.com & it was claimed to be a 4 star hotel with soundproofed rooms as it was next to the railway station & that the rooms were well equipped. I dispute the 4 star rating as the rooms very small with an old TV (possibly over 10 years old) and the room was an odd shape. There was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Although the soundproofing was good the rooms neither had air conditioning or fans provided. It was really hot & we asked the receptionist if we could have a fan for the room, she was very unfriendly and made out she didn’t understand us. Even when we checked in she seemed rather aloof and unwelcoming. I pointed to her fan on her desk but still she made out not to understand me and then started speaking to the guest behind us. He said that we had booked a different class of room and we would have to put up with it as the hotel was full. I asked for a refund to go to another hotel but she wasn’t having any of that & informed us that the manager would not be in for a couple of days. We had no choice but to suffer.
When we returned to the hotel after a walk in the city & an evening meal a different receptionist was working and I spoke to her, she was really friendly and offered us the fan from the reception & she even brought it up to our room. We don’t know how we would have managed without it. Breakfast was served in the Bistro & it was a typical German breakfast with cold meat & cheese & cereal, no pastries! It all seemed rather chaotic, with tables left un-cleared and guests all scrambling around the tiny area where the food was laid out.
Car parking was provided around the corner from the hotel in a small car park & the cost was 9 euro’s a day.
This experience spoilt our stay in Munster which is a shame as it is a beautiful city and previously we had stayed at the Mecure hotel which was formerly the Dorint.

Room Tip: Make sure you have booked the "right class of room"

Hotel is conveniently located across the street from the train station and a few minute walk to the downtown pedestrian area. Room was clean, the breakfast buffet was complete with scrambled eggs and sausage. A good value.

Had a great experience, room was big and had everything you would need, tv was a flat screen 32 inch and i had a big shower. The room was clean and the staff friendly. I had room 319 and had no problems with noise although not a great view. would recommend this place to a friend, great for easy access into the town.

The Room we were given was huge. No complaints there at all. All room facilities also good.
The negatives were that it was VERY noisy outside due to its location. I was woken numerous times right up until 3am in the morning.
Concierge was very pleasant.
The breakfast was very good and lots of choice.
A negative was both the service of the staff (very poor). We were given a 'free drinks' voucher on arrival but of course when we used it there were so many restrictions I just got three very small beers to avoid further discussion on it. Service was very poor in the bar I have to say.

would i stay again ? yes with ear plugs with me and price a bit cheaper.

Room Tip: take some ear plugs
