The hotel is well situated in the city centre but still very quiet. The room was spacious and clean, as was the bathroom, and the bed comfortable. I liked the fact that there was no runner at the foot end of the bed and that the now obligatory cushion had a freshly laundered cotton cover, just like the pillows, so it was actually used and didn't end up on the floor, as it does in most hotels. There were tea and coffee making facilities, with a good selection, a complimentary bottle of mineral water and a tiny bottle of Sekt (German 'champagne'). We were rather warm but discovered the next morning that the temperature in the room was fully adjustable, so check that out before you go to sleep!
The breakfast buffet was absolutely excellent: fantastic selection, top quality produce and worth every cent of the €13 it costs IF you are a breakfast person and can do it justice. Sekt and smoked salmon were included and there was even a dish of organic carrots and a juicer to make your own carrot juice!
The hotel has its own car park - convenient in the city centre - which also costs €13. This, plus an extra €26 per couple, bumps the basic hotel price up quite a bit but, on the whole, we agreed it was worth it.More
